Chris Hacker Resilience: In a turn of events, Chris Hacker, who faced a two-month suspension from NASCAR due to a DWI arrest, has been reinstated and is set to make his comeback in the Xfinity Series at Martinsville Speedway this Saturday, driving the #35 car for Emerling-Gase Motorsports.
Hacker’s journey back to racing wasn’t easy. Following his arrest in North Carolina, he underwent NASCAR’s Road to Recovery program, a requirement for individuals suspended for substance-related offenses. Reflecting on his experience, Hacker shared, “The last two months have been a huge learning experience for me. I went from the highest point of my life to the lowest point overnight, making a decision that nobody should ever make. There’s no excuse, no one to blame but myself.”
After 71 days sober, Hacker apologized to friends, family, sponsors, and fans for his pain. He thanked everyone who assisted him during this difficult time and vowed to rebuild fences and regain trust. “I promise to continue working on myself to be the best version of Chris Hacker that I can be. See y’all at Martinsville!” he stated optimistically.
Martinsville will mark Hacker’s third appearance in the Xfinity Series, having previously competed at Richmond and New Hampshire in 2023. Although he faced a setback with a thirtieth-place finish at Loudon, Hacker is determined to turn the page and make his mark on the track once more.
Before his suspension, Hacker also made occasional appearances in the Craftsman Truck Series, showcasing his talent with a twelfth-place finish at North Wilkesboro. Now, with his reinstatement, he’s gearing up for a fresh start, ready to contribute to EGM’s #35 team, which has seen various drivers throughout the season.
As Hacker embarks on this new chapter, the racing community watches closely, hopeful for his successful comeback and inspired by his resilience in the face of adversity.
