Martin Truex Jr. Honor a Cancer Hero auction lets NASCAR fans put loved ones’ names on cars, bidding open now

The Martin Truex Jr. Honor a Cancer Hero auction, a collaborative event by the NASCAR Foundation and the Martin Truex Jr. Foundation, has officially opened its online bidding for the sixth year in a row. The program allows NASCAR fans to pay tribute to loved ones affected by cancer by bidding for the chance to have their hero’s name displayed on a race car at key events, including races in Daytona Beach and Darlington this August.

How the Auction Works and What Fans Can Expect

This year’s online auction, presented by AdventHealth, gives supporters the opportunity to feature the names of their personal cancer heroes on the signature panels of cars in the NASCAR Cup Series and NASCAR Xfinity Series during race weekend at Daytona International Speedway from August 22 to 23. For the NASCAR CRAFTSMAN Truck Series, names will be added to vehicles during the following weekend at Darlington, on August 30.

All auction proceeds will benefit the Martin Truex Jr. Foundation and The NASCAR Foundation, both highly regarded for their efforts to support health and well-being in their communities. Since the initiative began in 2020, over $500,000 has been raised through this meaningful campaign.

Driving Support Through Personal Stories

“Behind every name on these cars is someone who refused to give up, and we’re honored to help carry their strength forward,”

—Rob Deininger, CEO, AdventHealth East Florida Division.

Rob Deininger also explained the purpose behind the initiative, stating,

“Through this auction, we’re able to turn personal stories of resilience into expanded access to care. Our SherryStrong Integrative Wellness Center in Daytona Beach is one way we’re doing that – offering therapies that treat the whole person, not just the illness. It’s helping more cancer patients find relief, renewal, and the strength to move forward.”

—Rob Deininger, CEO, AdventHealth East Florida Division.

Community Engagement and a Legacy of Support

This Honor a Cancer Hero program is one of several similar campaigns hosted by The NASCAR Foundation, which frequently runs online auctions for fans seeking race-used memorabilia or unforgettable track experiences. Through such initiatives, NASCAR and its partners continue to amplify the stories of resilience found throughout their communities, while raising significant funds to assist those whose lives have been touched by cancer.

Online bidding for the Martin Truex Jr. Honor a Cancer Hero auction is now live and will close on Monday, June 9, at 9 p.m. ET.
