eNASCAR College iRacing Series: Thrilling Showdown at Dover Motor Speedway

The eNASCAR College iRacing Series Powered by NACE Starleague is gearing up for its third race of the 2023-24 academic calendar, set to take place at Dover Motor Speedway. In this virtual showdown, racers will once again take the wheel of their NASCAR Xfinity Series rides for 110 scheduled laps, vying for scholarship awards that await the highest finishers.

Fans can catch all the action as the race streams live on Tuesday at 8 PM ET on eNASCAR.com/live and various iRacing social media channels. Simultaneously, the 130-lap eNASCAR Contender iRacing Series race at Richmond Raceway will unfold, with updates from both events featured throughout the broadcast.

The eNASCAR College iRacing Series offers college students from the United States and Canada a chance to compete for a share of $60,000 in scholarships. Using machines from the NASCAR Xfinity Series or NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series, 40 drivers qualify for the event by showcasing their fastest lap times in a two-week Time Attack through the iRacing UI. With only one representative per school and fierce competition from classmates, drivers battle not only the broader iRacing community but also their peers for a coveted spot on the prestigious grid.

In the series’ previous race at Charlotte Motor Speedway, the competition intensified as drivers shifted from NASCAR Xfinity Series cars to the NASCAR Craftsman Trucks. A nail-biting battle ensued for the top position between eNASCAR Coca-Cola iRacing Series veterans Logan Clampitt of Cal State Fullerton, Garrett Lowe of UNC at Charlotte, and Austin Farr of Liberty University. Ultimately, Farr managed to seize the lead from Lowe, securing his first career victory in the series.

Reflecting on last season, Clampitt, formerly racing for Saddleback College, showcased his dominance in the Spring 2023 semester. Notably, he clinched victory at Dover in February, leading 82 of the 100 laps and employing strategic pit stops to outmaneuver competitors from Rutgers and the University of Maine at Machias.

Dover Motor Speedway, fondly known as The Monster Mile, presents a unique challenge to drivers. The concrete oval spans a mile in length and features 24-degree banking in the corners and nine-degree banking on the straightaways. This iconic track, which transitioned to concrete in 1995, is renowned as a “self-cleaning” speedway. When accidents occur, the cars typically roll down to the bottom of the banking, minimizing further chaos. Dover has a rich history in NASCAR, having hosted races in the Cup Series, Xfinity Series, and Craftsman Trucks Series over the years. As the eNASCAR College iRacing Series heads to this challenging venue, fans can anticipate thrilling virtual racing action and fierce competition among the talented field of college racers.
