Jimmie Johnson Comeback: Seven-time Nascar Cup Series champion Jimmie Johnson is confirmed to rejoin the No. 84 car for Legacy Motor Club in 2024, marking a significant return for the semi-retired Nascar legend.

Announced by the team on Tuesday, Johnson is scheduled to compete in a minimum of three races, backed by AdventHealth, a healthcare firm previously affiliated with Trackhouse Racing and Chip Ganassi Racing. AdventHealth will sponsor Johnson in three races while also supporting Erik Jones’ No. 43 car in six races throughout 2024.

Expressing his enthusiasm, Johnson mentioned in a statement, “This collaboration with AdventHealth is a great step forward for Legacy M.C. Their commitment to holistic health aligns perfectly with our club’s values. I’m eager to kickstart this season and achieve great things together.”

Johnson will sport the AdventHealth colors at Texas Motor Speedway, Charlotte Motor Speedway, and the AdventHealth 400 at Kansas Speedway. Additionally, the firm will feature on Jones’ car during the Daytona 500.

AdventHealth previously backed Ross Chastain in six races in 2023 and nine races in 2022.

According to the reports, Johnson’s anticipated participation in the 2024 Daytona 500, the Chicago Street Race, and the Indianapolis Motor Speedway oval, these specific races were not included in Tuesday’s team schedule release.

In 2024, Legacy Motor Club is set to join the Toyota Racing family as a significant addition alongside Joe Gibbs Racing. The two-car team, featuring John Hunter Nemechek driving the No. 42 car, will mark Johnson’s debut with a car other than Chevrolet in his Cup career.

Johnson previously made three starts in 2023 with Legacy Motor Club, driving a car sponsored by Carvana and Club Wyndham.
