Chevrolet, commonly referred to as Chevy, is one of America’s most iconic automotive brands, founded in 1911 by Louis Chevrolet and William C. Durant in Detroit, Michigan. As a division of General Motors, Chevrolet has built a reputation for producing a wide range of vehicles, from subcompact cars and family sedans to trucks and high-performance sports cars.
Chevrolet’s involvement in NASCAR, the premier stock car auto racing series in the United States, dates back to the early years of the sport. The brand was first introduced to NASCAR competition in the 1950. Over the decades, Chevrolet has become one of the most successful manufacturers in NASCAR history, celebrated for its technological advancements and competitive prowess.
In the NASCAR Cup Series, Chevrolet teams currently compete using the Camaro ZL1 1LE model. In the Xfinity Series, the teams drive the Camaro SS, while organizations in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series race with the Chevrolet Silverado.
