Kevin Harvick Future Racing Plans: A New Chapter Beyond NASCAR Cup Series

Kevin Harvick Future Racing Plans: On the latest Dale Jr. Download episode aired on November 8th, the guest of honor was none other than Kevin Harvick. In the captivating two-hour dialogue, the former 2014 NASCAR Cup Series champ, who concluded his full-time NASCAR Cup Series career at the end of 2023, firmly stated his decision never to grace the NASCAR Cup Series racetrack again. However, he left the door ajar for potential races in other series.

Harvick made it clear, asserting, “I’m not sure, yet. The door is open. I’m not going to drive Cup ever again. Never again.”

His reasoning behind this resolve delved into the challenges of balancing in and out of the intensely competitive Cup Series. “I just can’t be competitive. I can’t make myself go there and say, ‘I’m looking for a top-30 today.’ That’s what it would be. You’d be lucky to run 30th,” Harvick expressed, emphasizing the difficulty of maintaining competitiveness in such a high-stakes environment.

Regarding potential future ventures, Harvick remains entirely open. Freed from any specific manufacturer obligations post his driving contract with Stewart-Haas Racing, Harvick’s KHI Management late model program, previously aligned with Ford, now enjoys the liberty to explore different options.

Harvick elaborated, “The late model teams in my mind were an asset for KHI Management.” Explaining his vision, he continued, “So the theory is, okay we’re going to have the late model teams, the supers and late model stocks so that our clients can get in the cars, and we’ll use the cars for our clients or special events, like [Dale Jr.] did with Larson.”

The prospect of steering something in 2024 ignited Harvick’s enthusiasm. He hinted at participation in grassroots events or other entertaining endeavors. When Dale Earnhardt Jr. proposed the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series or NASCAR Xfinity Series, Harvick entertained the idea but balked at the pressure-packed manner in which Earnhardt operates his Xfinity Series team.

“I’m not going to do it that way. No way. You’re a brave man,” Harvick chuckled, appreciating Earnhardt’s bold approach while affirming his personal stance.

Even though Harvick has retired from NASCAR Cup Series racing, the idea of him donning a firesuit, helmet, and gloves again isn’t entirely out of the question.
