NASCAR Unveil New Broadcast Deal: Multiple Partners, Streaming Platform Highlight 2025 Plans

NASCAR Unveil New Broadcast Deal: According to a report by Motorsport.com, NASCAR is set to unveil its forthcoming broadcast deal on Wednesday afternoon, which will be distributed among three television partners and an exclusive streaming platform.

This agreement concerns the broadcast rights slated to commence in 2025. As outlined in the report, FOX Sports will resume broadcasting the initial 14 races of the NASCAR Cup Series season, while NBC will air the final 14. The middle 10 races will be divided between a returning TNT and a streaming service, reportedly Amazon Prime. TNT previously aired the ‘NASCAR Summer Series’ between 2007 and 2014, a six-race mid-summer segment situated between FOX and ESPN’s coverage.

The announcement is anticipated to coincide with the commencement of the NASCAR Champions Week celebration in Downtown Nashville at 5 p.m. However, the report did not divulge specifics regarding the length or terms of the agreement. Earlier in the week, NASCAR President Steve Phelps hinted at an impending announcement.

Phelps explained, “We are going to have an additional partner and we may have two additional partners. That’s kind of where we’re trying to figure out in these last few weeks — what that’s going to look like, but we already know we’re going to have more partners.”

He also emphasized the importance of having events broadcasted across over-the-air, cable, and streaming platforms, citing it as a strategic move for the sport’s future success.

The current $8.2 billion deal with FOX and NBC expires after the 2024 season, and the delay in finalizing an agreement beyond next season is influencing negotiations between NASCAR and the race teams regarding an extension to the charter agreement.

The agreement between NASCAR and the Cup Series teams, represented by the Race Team Alliance, coincides with the current television agreement. Currently, 65 percent of TV revenue goes to the tracks, 25 percent to the teams, and 10 percent to NASCAR. Once a new television contract is secured, NASCAR and the teams can proceed with negotiations for a new agreement among themselves
