NASCAR Most Popular Driver 2023: With only three days left in the 2023 NASCAR Most Popular Driver voting window, fans still have an opportunity to propel their favorite drivers to the forefront for this prestigious Award. Recently, NASCAR unveiled the top five drivers, alphabetically listed, contending for the Most Popular Driver Awards across all three NASCAR National Series.
Chase Elliott headlines the NASCAR Cup Series Most Popular Driver Award top five, seeking his sixth consecutive win. However, Elliott faced setbacks in 2023, missing seven races due to injury and suspension. The combination of missed races and his first winless season since 2017 could potentially open the door for other contenders to vie for the Award.
Joining Elliott in the top five for the NASCAR Cup Series Most Popular Driver Award are Ryan Blaney, the 2023 Cup Series titleholder, along with Kyle Busch, Ross Chastain, and Kyle Larson, comprising a formidable list aiming to challenge Elliott’s reign as NASCAR’s Most Popular Driver in 2023.
In the NASCAR Xfinity Series arena, Justin Allgaier, who secured second place in the championship standings and previously clinched three consecutive MPD Awards from 2020 to 2021, finds himself once again in the running for the NXS MPD Award.
The list also features Josh Berry, Sheldon Creed, Cole Custer, and Josh Williams, all eyeing their maiden Most Popular Driver Award victory in the series.
Within the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series, Hailie Deegan, the recipient of the last two Most Popular Driver Awards, holds her ground among the top five contenders for the 2023 Award.
Accompanying Deegan are Matt DiBenedetto, a Playoffs contender this season, Stewart Friesen, Championship 4 contender Carson Hocevar, and Series Champion Ben Rhodes, rounding out the list.
A potential dethronement of Deegan would mark the first MPD Award for the victorious driver, while a win for Deegan would elevate her to a remarkable three-time Truck Series Most Popular Driver titleholder.
