Carson Hocevar wants to win the 2023 Craftsman Truck Series. He pursues this under Niece Motorsports. This story has more to it. As the 2024 race season approaches, this is an excellent audition for a full-time seat in the elite Cup Series.
Hocevar has driven four Cup Series races. He has repeatedly demonstrated his suitability for this opportunity. In his first employment, he went for Spire Motorsports and replaced Corey LaJoie at World Wide Technology Raceway. Chase Elliott was temporarily banned, so LaJoie filled in for Hendrick Motorsports. It was added at the last minute. After a brake rotor explosion ruined a terrific performance as he came down the hill to Turn 1, Hocevar finished in the top 20. Even if it was embarrassing, being last didn’t indicate his driving skill.
Hocevar drove Legacy Motor Club’s No. 42 Chevrolet at Darlington Raceway, the first playoff event. He excels at this work and keeps doing it. In particular, his many spectacular top-20 wins demonstrate his skill.
“For whatever reason, this car works well for me,” Hocevar remarked, beaming after finishing 11th at Bristol Motor Speedway. I don’t know if God designed this car for me, but that’s where this incorrect thought came from. Lots of fun.”
Thinking about what Hocevar stated after his spectacular fifth-place finish on Stage 2 at Bristol the week before, “delusion” seems mild. “Put me in the front, and I’ll sail,” he said. His swift ascension to the top wasn’t a coincidence; it proved his speed. This contributed to the team’s best finish of the year, beating Noah Gragson’s March 12th-place performance at Atlanta Motor Speedway.
His crew attentively considered Hocevar’s sharp remarks and trusted his judgment. He agreed with Bristol’s setup because of what he mentioned in a simulator lesson. He also learned a lot from the truck series, which prepared him for the role.

After finishing middle at Darlington and Kansas, Hocevar thought he needed to do more. He saw himself as superior than he was. Because of his driving, he believes he will easily win the playoffs’ first round.
“I’ve always thought I could run like that,” stated Hocevar. I was upset after Darlington and Kansas because I thought I should do it. It’s hard, but you must succeed to be here.
“I was so hard on myself that I needed a smack to embrace my 17th-place finish. It’s reasonable to suppose so. I can be upset and demand more now, but I can be glad on Monday and attempt to improve.
Legacy M.C. announced that Hocevar would win this weekend at Texas Motor Speedway and the following week at the difficult Talladega Superspeedway. After three races with the No. 42 squad, he had as many top-10 finishes as Gragson, Mike Rockenfeller, and Josh Berry after 26 races.
