Brent Crews Bio

Brent Anderson Crews (born March 30, 2008) is an American professional racing driver and team owner competing across dirt track, sports car, and stock car racing. He drives part-time in the NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series, piloting the No. 19 Toyota GR Supra for Joe Gibbs Racing. A member of the Toyota Racing Development program, Crews has built a reputation as one of the youngest champions in American motorsports history.

Born in Hickory, North Carolina, Crews began his racing career in karts at a very early age and has steadily advanced through nearly every major ladder in American racing. His combination of poise, speed, and team leadership has marked him as a notable rising star in the sport.

Early Life and Background

Crews was born in Hickory, North Carolina, and grew up in a region steeped in stock car tradition. From a young age, he was drawn to motorsports, and his family supported his early interest by taking him to nearby karting facilities.

He began racing go-karts at the GoPro Motorplex in Mooresville, North Carolina, where he quickly developed his race craft. Crews competed in the United States Pro Kart Series rookie class in 2016 and won the championship. By 2017 and 2018, he had added international karting titles, including the IAME International World Finals and a Micro MAX World Championship event in Brazil.

Through consistent results across multiple karting disciplines, Crews built a foundation that prepared him for the transition to open-wheel and stock car competition.

Path to NASCAR

Crews’ path to NASCAR passed through outlaw karts, dirt midgets, sports cars, and late model stock cars. He made his outlaw kart debut in 2016, climbed through the classes at Millbridge Speedway, and became the first driver to win in every outlaw kart class at the track in 2019. That same year, he won the Outlaw Kart Nationals in Knoxville, Iowa.

In 2021, he moved into the POWRi Lucas Oil National Midget Series with CB Industries, winning at Valley Speedway and becoming the youngest winner in series history at 13 years old. He then transitioned to the SCCA Trans-Am TA2 ProAm Series, capturing the 2023 championship as the youngest titleholder in series history.

His late model results, including a dominant run at the 2024 World Series of Asphalt at New Smyrna Speedway and a CARS Late Model Stock Tour Rookie of the Year award, opened the door to the ARCA Menards Series and eventually the national NASCAR tour.

Brent Crews Career

Early Career (2016–2021)

Crews’ early career was defined by karting dominance. He won national karting championships in the United States and abroad, and he added the Rotax Grand Nationals Micro Max title in 2017. By the time he turned thirteen, he had already accumulated a string of national titles.

He followed his karting success with a full-time commitment to the POWRi Lucas Oil National Midget Series in 2021, earning multiple feature wins across Valley Speedway, Federated Auto Parts Raceway at I-55, Jacksonville Speedway, and Sweet Springs Motorsports Complex. These results established him as one of the most promising young drivers in the country.

Trans-Am Series Breakthrough (2022–2024)

Crews re-joined Nitro Motorsports for a full season in the SCCA Trans-Am TA2 ProAm Series in 2022. He earned his first career pole and win at Road America, becoming the youngest driver to win a Trans-Am Series race at 14 years, three months, and four days. He added victories at the Music City Grand Prix and Virginia International Raceway, finishing third in the final standings.

He returned to Nitro Motorsports in 2023 and won at NOLA Motorsports Park, the Detroit Street Circuit, Road America, and Watkins Glen. After a fourth-place finish at Circuit of the Americas, he clinched the 2023 TA2 championship, becoming the youngest champion in series history at 15 years, seven months, and three days old. In 2024, he added three more wins in only five starts and continued to lead the series in wins since his arrival.

ARCA Menards Series Breakthrough (2023–2025)

Crews made his ARCA Menards Series debut at Watkins Glen in 2023 with Venturini Motorsports, finishing third. He scored his first ARCA victory at the Illinois State Fairgrounds, becoming the second-youngest winner in series history. In 2024, he added a dominant win at the DuQuoin State Fairgrounds, leading every lap of the dirt race.

In 2025, Joe Gibbs Racing announced that Crews would drive for the team part-time across all three ARCA series. He won the ARCA and ARCA West combination race at Phoenix, the ARCA East race at Rockingham, the ARCA and ARCA East races at Indianapolis Raceway Park and Springfield, the ARCA and ARCA East combination race at Bristol, and the ARCA West standalone at Phoenix. He closed the ARCA Menards Series season with a best career finish of eleventh in points, while posting three wins and four poles in the ARCA East and two wins and a pole in ARCA West.

NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series Era (2025–Present)

On January 6, 2025, Tricon Garage announced that Crews would make his NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series debut in the No. 1 truck. He ran the full schedule, scored three top-ten finishes, and finished twenty-fifth in the Truck Series standings. In 2026, he returned to Tricon and drove the No. 1 at Watkins Glen.

Mid-season in 2025, Crews formed his own Truck Series team, Brent Crews Motorsports, which debuted at Watkins Glen. The program signaled his growing role as a driver-owner within the NASCAR ranks.

Joe Gibbs Racing Era (2026–Present)

On November 24, 2025, Joe Gibbs Racing announced that Crews would drive the No. 19 Toyota in the NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series nearly full-time in 2026. Because of his age, he sat out four early-season races before returning to the car at Martinsville. After Texas, he won the Dash 4 Cash bonus, and at San Diego he scored his first career pole position in the series.

Through the first part of his O’Reilly Auto Parts Series rookie campaign, Crews posted zero wins, eight top-ten finishes, and one pole across his first two starts of the year at Austin and San Diego. His progression with Joe Gibbs Racing has positioned him as one of the youngest full-time Cup-adjacent competitors in the garage.

Driving Style and Strengths

Crews is known for his smooth, calculated style and his ability to adapt quickly to new cars and tracks. He has shown particular strength on road courses and varied-surface events, including dirt races in ARCA. His partnership with Joe Gibbs Racing has given him access to veteran crew chief leadership, helping him refine his race craft at the national NASCAR level.

Notable Races and Milestones

Signature moments include his first Trans-Am win at Road America, his ARCA victory at the Illinois State Fairgrounds, his 2024 New Smyrna World Series of Asphalt title, and his first O’Reilly Auto Parts Series pole at San Diego.
