Richmond Raceway Stellar Vision: Richmond Raceway revealed its celestial aspirations today through new logos, embracing a deep connection to the River City’s ambition ahead of two NASCAR Cup Series events slated to culminate under the night sky next year.
Here in the River City, its a relentless pursuit of greatness and an unwavering reach for the stars, articulated Richmond Raceway President Lori Collier Waran, debuting the fresh insignias during a special affair on Wednesday afternoon. Richmond holds the cradle of American racing, where newcomers have seized legendary status and icons have soared into stardom. These new logos truly encapsulate the daring Richmond spirit, defining our commonwealth and our beloved sport.
Richmond Raceways revamped look intricately weaves visual nods to familiar Commonwealth imagery. The logos outline mirrors Richmond Raceways iconic D-shaped oval, showcasing the James River and the skyline of Richmond within. The design borrows striping elements from the City of Richmonds flag, with stars and star streaks paying homage to the city seal and its age-old motto, dating back 200 years sic itur ad astra, Latin for ‘to the stars.’
Earlier this year, Richmond Raceway and NASCAR confirmed that both of the 2024 NASCAR Cup Series races will conclude under the evening sky. The Toyota Owners 400 is set for 7 p.m. on Easter Sunday, March 31, continuing NASCARs push to own the Easter holiday with a prime-time slot, aiming to draw new interest. The event will air live on FOX, MRN, and SiriusXM NASCAR Radio.
Following that, on Sunday, Aug. 11, at 6 p.m., the Cook Out 400 will return to Richmonds 0.75-mile oval, broadcast live on USA Network, MRN, and SiriusXM NASCAR Radio.
Richmond Raceways Easter weekend will feature the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tours Virginia is for Racing Lovers 150 on Friday, March 29, and the NASCAR Xfinity Series ToyotaCare 250 on Saturday, March 30. During the summer race weekend, the NASCAR CRAFTSMAN Truck Series regular-season finale will take place on Saturday, Aug. 10
