Jackson Boone Absence: A Result of Snowball Derby Crash Impact

Jackson Boone Absence: The Snowflake 100 at 5 Flags Speedway won’t see Jackson Boone in action today following a hefty crash during Sunday’s Snowball Derby. The No. 7 Fat Head Racing team, without a relief driver, has withdrawn its entry due to Boone’s unavailability after the accident.

The team conveyed the news through a social media post earlier today, explaining, “Due to Jackson Boone’s hard impact yesterday, he won’t be participating in today’s Snowflake 100. Despite being discharged from the hospital and feeling okay, concussion-like symptoms will keep him sidelined. Despite this setback, we’re geared up for what lies ahead after bringing two strong cars this week.”

During his debut in the Snowball Derby, Boone was performing admirably until an incident on Lap 34 involving NASCAR Cup Series driver Erik Jones sent his car on a turbulent trajectory, crashing hard into the outside wall in Turns 1 and 2.

Following the crash, Boone spent some time in his vehicle before cautiously walking away from the aftermath.

Boone, aged 23, was recognized as a finalist for the 2023 Kulwicki Driver Development Program in April. Despite this setback, he secured a commendable third place in the Kulwicki Cup Point Standings this season, following behind champion Max Cookson and Haeden Plybon.

From Franklin, TN, Boone secured a 34th-place finish in the 36-car field of the Snowball Derby.

Previously, the young racer achieved three starts in the Snowflake 100, securing his best-ever finish of third in last season’s event, fueling optimism for a competitive run on Monday.

Throughout the 2023 season, Boone took part in various short track series, including the ASA STARS National Tour, the Solid Rock Carriers CARS Tour Late Model Tour, CRA Super Series, Southern Super Series, and the CRA JEGS All-Stars Tour.

Scheduled for Monday, December 4, 2023, the Snowflake 100’s broadcast will be available via Racing America’s PPV, commencing at 12:45 PM ET.
