Kyle Busch Expresses Frustration Over Delayed Aero Changes for NASCAR’s Talladega Race

This weekend’s Talladega race did not come with any aerodynamic alterations for the Cup Series cars, much to the chagrin of Kyle Busch. Considering the increasing frequency of car flips at these high-velocity NASCAR tracks, Busch’s disappointment is quite understandable.

NASCAR had earlier tested new modifications at Michigan to ensure cars remained grounded. Although these blowover flips have not resulted in significant injuries so far, they are undesirable experiences for any driver.

On the eve of this weekend’s race, Bob Pockrass from FOX Sports spoke with Kyle Busch. Expressing his disappointment, Busch stated, “I think they tested it at Michigan, and it probably is not easy and could be expensive to produce greener, safer versions. So, you would like to have anything like that as soon as you possibly could get it. Coming to places like this without a safety feature is a bit disappointing.”

Kyle Busch has expressed disappointment over NASCAR’s delay in implementing any changes to the Aero package for drafting tracks, even though he is aware that NASCAR is working on a future plan. Fans hope to see a change implemented as soon as possible, particularly concerned about upcoming races at Daytona.

Despite the setback, there’s good news for Busch. He will start from the P2 position as his Chevy was the fastest in qualifying. His RCR teammate Austin Dillon is the only other Chevy opening in the top-10 later today, indicating an edge for Busch in the race.

With only one top-10 finish in his last five races and no victories since his triumph at Gateway in June 2023, Busch could certainly use the boost. However, knowing his consistent speed struggle, it’s great to know that he, at least, has a prompt start today.

Superspeedway racing in the Cup Series now leaves the drivers with plenty of time to strategize their race. Could today be the day Busch breaks his winless streak? All eyes are on him and his RCR teammate, Austin Hill, to succeed and take home a victory.
