Bubba Wallace Stays in NASCAR Hunt with Positive Mindset After Texas Crash: “More Positives Than One Negative”

Bubba Wallace, despite a challenging crash that ended his race early at Texas Motor Speedway last Sunday, remains focused on maintaining a positive outlook as he continues to compete in the NASCAR Cup Series. Competing for 23XI Racing, Wallace was taken out during the Wurth 400 after a late-race incident, but he quickly shifted his focus to future opportunities, emphasizing there are “more positives than one negative” as he prepares for the upcoming Kansas Speedway race.

Running within the top 10, Bubba Wallace’s day took an unfortunate turn while chasing Carson Hocevar, leading to a collision with the wall that sparked a multi-car accident involving Noah Gragson and AJ Allmendinger. This setback, however, gave Wallace a chance to reflect with crew chief Charles Denike. During a SiriusXM NASCAR Radio appearance, Wallace shared that the post-race conversation with Denike was instrumental in helping him regain perspective and renew his drive for future races.

Currently ranked eighth in the Cup Series points standings, Bubba Wallace is looking to capture his first win in about 90 starts at Sunday’s AdventHealth 400 in Kansas. Kansas Speedway holds special meaning for Wallace; he earned his last Cup Series victory there in 2022. With a strong record at the 1.5-mile intermediate track, his team, co-owned by NBA legend Michael Jordan and Denny Hamlin, is optimistic about their chances.

Both Wallace and 23XI Racing have shown improvement throughout the season. Wallace recorded back-to-back third-place finishes at Homestead and Martinsville, along with top-10 performances at Atlanta and Talladega. As 23XI Racing continues to grow, new sponsor Robinhood has joined the team, unveiling bold paint schemes for Wallace and his teammate, bringing renewed excitement heading into the summer stretch.

Bubba Wallace’s resilience after Texas demonstrates his commitment, not just to winning races, but also to setting a mental example for his team and fans. As the season progresses, his ability to recover from setbacks and focus on positive momentum could prove crucial, keeping him firmly in contention and inspiring those who look to him for motivation.
