Ryan Blaney Shines at Charity Pickleball Event, Raises Awareness for Brain Health and Alzheimer’s Support

Ryan Blaney took center stage on May 13 at the Rally Pickleball courts in Charlotte, uniting NASCAR drivers, celebrities, and pickleball professionals for the second annual Pickle for a Purpose charity event. Hosted by the Ryan Blaney Family Foundation, the event aimed to boost awareness about brain health and extend support to families facing the challenges of Alzheimer’s disease and concussions, while celebrating community and philanthropy with energy and sincerity.

With the foundation established in 2018 to honor Blaney’s grandfather, who battled Alzheimer’s disease, Ryan Blaney has dedicated himself to making a difference for those impacted by neurological disorders. The charity event, which was live-streamed to reach a wider audience, highlighted this mission, serving both as a fundraiser and an educational platform. As Blaney looked back on the foundation’s evolution, he remarked,

“It’s been a lot of fun over the last handful of years, and it’s events like this that really bring people together and raise some great money for really good causes.”

His passion was evident as he worked alongside organizations such as the Alzheimer’s Association and UPMC, echoing his firm personal ties to the cause.

The Pickle for a Purpose event was filled with competitive excitement, especially during the tournament finals. A dramatic showdown saw former NASCAR driver Corey LaJoie representing team Stacking Pickles against Ryan Blaney’s own Concord PB team. The match drew cheers as Blaney’s team secured a decisive victory with a score of 11-2. Reflecting on the intense competition, LaJoie noted,

“I’ve never seen some of the things in my entire life that I saw in that game, and I am glad that the Pickles came out on top; they put up a tough fight.”

His sportsmanship and positive attitude encapsulated the camaraderie that the event fostered among participants and fans alike.

The Ryan Blaney Family Foundation’s efforts extend beyond events, with vital initiatives such as Forget-Me-Not, Fund-A-Fellow, and the Youth Bike Helmet programs. These projects are designed to provide crucial support, resources, and connection to individuals and families confronting neurological challenges, building a network of understanding within the community. As Blaney continues his journey in NASCAR and his philanthropic mission, Pickle for a Purpose stands as a powerful illustration of how sports, compassion, and teamwork can generate lasting change for brain health awareness and Alzheimer’s support.
