Corey LaJoie Starts Amazon Prime Analyst Role, Gets Hilarious NFL Parenting Advice from Ryan Fitzpatrick

Corey LaJoie starts Amazon Prime analyst role with NFL advice as he joins Amazon Prime Video’s coverage of five upcoming NASCAR races, beginning with this weekend’s Coca-Cola 600 at Charlotte Motor Speedway. Ahead of his analyst debut, LaJoie received practical guidance—and some entertaining family stories—from longtime Amazon Prime NFL analyst and former quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick during a recent appearance on LaJoie’s podcast, Stacking Pennies.

Ryan Fitzpatrick Shares Personal Experiences and Offers Guidance

As a guest on Stacking Pennies, Ryan Fitzpatrick drew from his extensive broadcasting career and life as a father of seven to offer LaJoie some light-hearted wisdom before the NASCAR driver joins the Prime team as an analyst. Fitzpatrick, who just returned from a stint in Ireland covering NFL events, spoke about the joys and logistics of raising a large family, reflecting on how he and his wife always envisioned a big household since both came from families with three siblings each.

“It’s wild, but really like we always thought we’d have a big family. I have three siblings, [His wife] had three siblings, we said, ‘What’s one more, what’s one more?’ And when you get to six and you’re making that decision, ‘Do we go to seven?’ you no longer fit in a normal minivan if you go to seven,” he said.

The transition to a larger family meant upgrades at home—and on the road. Fitzpatrick recounted how after deciding to welcome a seventh child, he had to trade in the standard family vehicle for a much larger van, which quickly became a humorous talking point among his children’s friends.

“So that was the only time where we had to stop and think and be like ‘Okay, do we want to be the, not just weird, but now really weird family with the 12 passenger van driving around?’ and all of our kids’ friends call it the ‘kidnapper van’ now,” added Fitzpatrick [49:01 onwards].

Advice Aimed at Helping LaJoie Succeed in His New Role

Fitzpatrick shifted the conversation from parenting back to broadcasting, giving LaJoie advice for his analyst duties. He emphasized the importance of staying flexible and being willing to take on different challenges as they come with the broadcasting job.

This input came just as Corey LaJoie prepared for his media debut with the Coca-Cola 600, set for Sunday, May 25th at 6 p.m. ET, broadcasting live from Charlotte Motor Speedway. LaJoie’s involvement with Prime extends over the next five Cup Series races, where fans will see him transition from his familiar role as Rick Ware Racing driver to television analyst.

Corey LaJoie Reflects on New Opportunities

LaJoie has been candid about his gratitude for this fresh chapter, sharing his thoughts earlier this year after being tapped to split his driving and media duties. He spoke about how the chance to join Amazon Prime Video seemed almost fated, hinting at a sense of purpose in expanding his professional horizons beyond the track.

“When [Amazon] were pursuing me towards the end of last year, I felt like there were things that were materializing in my life and doors that were opening from the Lord to allow me to see that there are other things that I can do outside of being a full-time Cup driver,” Corey LaJoie shared [via NASCAR].

The run with Prime Video will wrap up with The Great American Getaway 400 at Pocono Raceway on June 22, marking the end of LaJoie’s scheduled analyst appearances for the season. With support from seasoned figures like Fitzpatrick and a spirit of openness toward new challenges, LaJoie’s stint promises to showcase not only his knowledge of racing but also his ability to adapt and grow both in front of the camera and in his racing career.

As LaJoie begins his new role amid wise, light-hearted advice and personal reflections, his journey signals a dynamic blend of NASCAR insight and the unique energy he brings from the driver’s seat to the television studio.
