The Kyle Busch racing family is expanding its presence on the track, as 10-year-old Brexton Busch prepares for his rookie season in stock car racing. Following in the footsteps of his father, two-time NASCAR Cup Series champion Kyle Busch, Brexton will join the Junior Late Model division at Madera Speedway in California starting this March.
Brexton’s 2024 schedule includes eight events at Madera Speedway, held between March and October. He is set to drive Charlie Wilson’s No. 18 car in a division open to racers aged 10 to 16. This marks a shift from his earlier competitions in Outlaw Karts and Micro Sprints, signaling a rapid rise through the ranks for the young competitor.
Ambition and Excitement Fuel Brexton’s Debut
Brexton, already building a reputation for his skill behind the wheel, shared his enthusiasm as he readies for this next chapter. Explaining his excitement about the challenge, he stated,
“I’m really excited to get started with Wilson Motorsports and race at Madera Speedway,
Brexton said in a statement via Motorsport. The leap to Junior Late Model racing is an important milestone, and the young driver acknowledged the demands ahead.
“This is a big step for me, and I know the competition is going to be tough every time we hit the track. I’m ready to learn, work hard, and make the most of this opportunity. A huge thank you to my partners SERVPRO, Lucas Oil, Starkist, Morgan & Morgan Sport Clips, Pristine Auctions OBX Chevrolet, and everyone who makes this possible.”
Continuing to share his journey with fans, Brexton went online to express his anticipation, writing,
“I’m excited to make my Junior Late Model debut this spring!! I get to race 8 times at Madera Speedway in California, my schedule is below! Can’t wait for this new opportunity!!”
Charlie Wilson and a Proven Pathway to the Top
Car owner Charlie Wilson, whose car Brexton will pilot, praised the young driver’s accomplishments to date and the high level of competition in the division. Wilson expressed his support and optimism regarding Brexton’s potential, remarking on the track record of success in the series. He said,

“This series is widely regarded as the most competitive Junior Late Model division in the United States. Over the years, many drivers I’ve raced against in this series have gone on to become Pro Late Model champions, ARCA champions, and NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series champions. It’s a proven path, and we’re looking forward to seeing what Brexton can do.”
Brexton enters the division as the reigning INEX Bandolero Bandits National Championship titleholder, having secured 23 wins in 2025. His racing achievements at such an early age, including victories over his renowned father Kyle, underscore his abilities and drive.
Kyle Busch’s Vision for Brexton’s Racing Future
Kyle Busch has made his aspirations for his son clear, aiming for a journey that could eventually reach the NASCAR Cup Series. Via FloRacing, Kyle outlined a progression plan for Brexton’s career:
“So eventually he’ll get to some ARCA races, some Truck races, and on to Xfinity on the Cup. So that’s the plan. Anyways, we’ll see how it goes. He’s got a lot of great help and sponsors with him along the way with Lucas Oil and Servpro and StarKist and FloSports, so we’re looking forward to making it all the way.”
Supporting his son’s ambitions, Kyle continues to compete at the sport’s highest level, starting his 22nd full-time Cup Series season and his fourth with Richard Childress Racing. Meanwhile, younger daughter Lennix, just three years old, is already showing early interest in racing, hinting that the family’s racing lineage may soon stretch even further.
The Next Generation of Racing Talent on Display
With the addition of Brexton Busch to the Junior Late Model field at Madera Speedway, the next generation of racing talent is taking shape before fans and industry insiders alike. The division has a strong history of propelling drivers toward higher echelons of motorsport, including NASCAR titles and national championships.
The broader racing community, including figures like Hailee Deegan, Denny Hamlin, and Kevin Harvick, recognizes the competitive nature of grassroots divisions like Madera’s, where results speak for themselves. As Brexton embarks on his new venture, the spotlight intensifies on the ongoing evolution of the Kyle Busch racing family, signaling more milestones and possible championships ahead.
