Timothy “Mini” Tyrrell will fill the final seat in the Kaulig Racing NASCAR Truck Series roster for the 2026 season, following his victory in Ram Racing’s Race for the Seat competition. Tyrrell is set to drive the No. 14 Ram 1500 when the season begins at Daytona next weekend, making a remarkable leap from grassroots racing to the national stage.
Tyrrell’s Journey from Grassroots Racing to the Big Leagues
Emerging from the intense reality series, Race for the Seat, which concluded just one week before Ram Racing’s highly anticipated return to the NASCAR CRAFTSMAN Truck Series, Tyrrell triumphed over a field of aspiring drivers to claim his place. The show was designed to discover and test new talent, offering competitors real-world racing challenges and the unique opportunity to join Kaulig Racing and Ram in America’s premier motorsport series. Tyrrell expressed his shock and gratitude after clinching the top spot:
“I’m just overwhelmed. Winning Race for the Seat is something I never in a million years figured would happen,”
said Timothy “Mini” Tyrrell.
“I came into this hoping to learn a thing or two, grow a bit, and see if I could hang with a bunch of great drivers. I’m thankful from the bottom of my heart for my family, for everybody who’s been in my corner, and for Ram and Kaulig Racing for this opportunity—taking a chance on a kid that comes from grassroots racing and elevating me to a professional level. I’m gonna work my tail off to make everybody proud.”
said Timothy “Mini” Tyrrell.
Ram and Kaulig Racing’s Strategic Vision for Talent and Fan Engagement
Ram’s renewed approach to NASCAR highlights both a fan-centered activation strategy and a forward-looking system for driver development. Race for the Seat served as a key platform within this vision, emphasizing both opportunity and merit. As Tim Kuniskis of Stellantis explained:
“Ram is built on grit, competition, and a relentless drive to approach our NASCAR effort differently,”
said Tim Kuniskis, Head of American Brands, SRT Performance, North America Marketing and Retail Strategy, Stellantis.
“Race for the Seat brought that spirit to a national stage. The series gave emerging drivers a chance to prove themselves under real pressure and earn their shot in the NASCAR Truck Series with Ram and Kaulig Racing. Mini earned his place on our team, performing exceptionally throughout the competition and is a natural fit for Ram’s ‘last tenth’ culture.”
said Tim Kuniskis, Head of American Brands, SRT Performance, North America Marketing and Retail Strategy, Stellantis.
Tyrrell’s Accomplishments On and Off the Track
Timothy “Mini” Tyrrell hails from Manassas, Virginia, and brings an impressive resume to the Kaulig Racing NASCAR Truck Series. He became the youngest Late Model Stock Car winner in U.S. history at just ten years old and captured the 2019 CARS Tour Rookie of the Year award. With multiple wins and pole positions in the CARS Late Model Stock Tour, Tyrrell has proven his racing skills time and again. Beyond his achievements on the circuit, he also leads Mini’s Mission: Burn Rubber to Help Another, a nonprofit organization he founded at age six, which has raised more than $650,000 for pediatric cancer initiatives.

Evaluating Talent Under Pressure
Matt Kaulig, owner of Kaulig Racing, emphasized the advantages of the competition format for scouting emerging talent:
“Race for the Seat allowed us to evaluate drivers in a way you normally don’t get the chance to,”
said Matt Kaulig, Team Owner of Kaulig Racing.
“Over eight episodes, we saw how they competed, prepared, adapted, and handled pressure across different tracks and challenges. Mini proved he was ready for this opportunity, and we’re excited to welcome him to the Kaulig Racing team.”
said Matt Kaulig, Team Owner of Kaulig Racing.
