Ty Majeski Bio
Tyler Brad Majeski, known professionally as Ty Majeski, is an American professional stock car racing driver born on August 18, 1994, in Seymour, Wisconsin. He competes full-time in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series, driving the No. 88 Ford F-150 for ThorSport Racing, and he also continues to race in prestigious late model events across the country. Majeski earned national recognition by capturing the 2024 NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series championship, the highest title of his career so far.
Over more than a decade of competition, Majeski built a record that mixes short-track dominance with national-series success. He is a five-time ARCA Midwest Tour champion and the 2023 ASA Stars National Tour champion, and he has won major Super Late Model events such as the Snowball Derby, the Slinger Nationals, and the Oktoberfest at LaCrosse Fairgrounds Speedway.
Early Life and Background
Ty Majeski was born and raised in the small community of Seymour, Wisconsin, where his parents, Brad and Susan Majeski, supported his early interest in motorsports. He began racing as a nine-year-old on dirt karts at Hi-Go Raceway near Cecil, Wisconsin, in 2004, and won his first feature on his tenth birthday. Within his first eight starts he had already collected three victories, and between 2005 and 2009 he added five track titles and 84 feature wins at karting venues in Wisconsin.
By the time Majeski was 15, he had captured a national championship in the Mid-American National Series, along with six national karting titles, three state championships, and five track championships. His family chose to keep him close to home rather than relocate to North Carolina after a successful late model test arranged by Bobby Waltrip in 2009, a decision that kept him racing on the Wisconsin short-track scene. He graduated from Seymour Community High School in 2013 and later attended the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where he studied mechanical engineering.
Path to NASCAR
Majeski climbed the ladder through Wisconsin’s Big 8 Late Model Series in 2011, winning three races including a feature during the National Short Track Championship weekend at Rockford Speedway. He moved into Super Late Models in 2012 and raced 27 events across four cars and four owners in 2013, recording his first ARCA Midwest Tour pole position at Marshfield Motor Speedway and winning three features during the Oktoberfest weekend at LaCrosse.
He claimed the 2014 ARCA Midwest Tour Rookie of the Year award along with the series championship, becoming its youngest title holder, and repeated as champion in 2015, 2016, and 2017. In May 2016 he was named to the NASCAR Next class and joined Roush Fenway Racing’s driver development program, opening the door to national NASCAR competition. In early 2017 he relocated to Charlotte, North Carolina, to work as an engineer within the Roush organization while continuing his own racing program.
Ty Majeski Career
Early Career (2014-2017)
Majeski’s earliest national headlines came in the ARCA Midwest Tour, where he won four consecutive championships from 2014 through 2017 and set the standard for the series’ youngest champion in 2014. He added marquee Super Late Model victories during this stretch, including multiple Governor’s Cup wins at New Smyrna Speedway, the Rattler 250 at South Alabama Speedway, and the inaugural Kulwicki Driver Development Program title in 2015. Speed51.com ranked him No. 1 on its Short Track Draft board in 2016.
He was named to the 2016-2017 NASCAR Next class and partnered with Roush Fenway Racing, balancing an engineer role with his racing schedule. He made his ARCA Menards Series debut in 2016 at Madison International Speedway and began logging late model wins at tracks such as Dells Raceway Park, Wisconsin International Raceway, and LaCrosse Fairgrounds Speedway.
NASCAR Xfinity Series Breakthrough (2017-2018)
Majeski made his NASCAR Xfinity Series debut in June 2017 at Iowa Speedway, qualifying tenth and running as high as fifth before an accident left him with a 34th-place finish. He returned later that season at Iowa and at Homestead-Miami Speedway as part of a part-time schedule with Roush.
In 2018, Roush Fenway Racing placed Majeski in the No. 60 Xfinity car for a 12-race schedule shared with Chase Briscoe and Austin Cindric. He posted a career-best seventh-place finish at Iowa, but his development path took a hit when Roush shuttered its Xfinity program at the end of the season, leaving him without a national ride.
NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series Breakthrough (2019-2021)
Majeski made his Truck Series debut in the 2019 Lucas Oil 150 at ISM Raceway driving the No. 44 for Niece Motorsports. He moved to a full-time seat in the No. 45 in 2020, but was released midseason without a public explanation, with Trevor Bayne taking over the truck for the final stretch.
In 2021, Majeski joined ThorSport Racing, initially running a part-time Truck Series schedule in the No. 66 while also returning to the ARCA Midwest Tour, where he captured his fifth series championship. His late-season Truck Series form caught the team’s attention and set the stage for a full-time opportunity the following year.
ThorSport Racing Era (2022-Present)
ThorSport promoted Majeski to the No. 66 for a full-time 2022 campaign. He earned seven top-fives and ten top-tens to make the playoffs, then won at Bristol Motor Speedway and Homestead-Miami Speedway to lock himself into the Championship 4. A late spin at Phoenix dropped him to a 20th-place finish and a fourth-place result in the final standings, but the season cemented him as a title contender.
In 2023 he moved to the No. 98 and reached the Round of 8 after winning the playoff opener at Indianapolis Motor Speedway. In 2024 he captured wins at Indianapolis and Richmond Raceway during the regular season, advanced to the Championship 4, and sealed his first NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series championship with a victory at Phoenix. On August 18, 2025, ThorSport announced that Majeski would move to the No. 88 Ford F-150 beginning in 2026, taking over from the retiring Matt Crafton.
Driving Style and Strengths
Majeski is known for his smooth, methodical short-track craft, built during more than a decade on Wisconsin’s tight bullrings and Midwest Super Late Model circuits. He excels at long-run pace and restarts, a skill set that has produced late-race wins at demanding venues such as Bristol and Indianapolis. His mechanical engineering background also helps him communicate setup changes precisely with his ThorSport crew chiefs.

Signature moments include winning the Snowball Derby in 2020 and 2023, the Slinger Nationals in 2018, 2020, 2023, and 2025, and back-to-back Dixieland 250 victories at Wisconsin International Raceway. His most important career win came in the 2024 Championship Race at Phoenix Raceway, where he clinched the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series title.

Ty Majeski Family
Family Background and Racing Lineage
Ty Majeski was raised in Seymour, Wisconsin, by his parents, Brad and Susan Majeski, who supported his early karting career at tracks such as Hi-Go Raceway and GSR Kartway. His family chose to keep him rooted in Wisconsin rather than relocate to North Carolina in 2009, a decision that helped him develop on the Midwest short-track circuit before moving to NASCAR’s national series.
Personal Life
Majeski became engaged to Ali VanderLoop in August 2018. He moved from North Carolina to Sandusky, Ohio, after joining ThorSport Racing in 2021, since the team’s shop is based there rather than in the Charlotte area. He was the No. 1 ranked oval player on the iRacing simulator from December 2016 through December 2021.
2025 Season Performance
Majeski opened the 2025 NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series season focused on defending his 2024 championship. After a moderate start, he strung together consistent runs, posting top-ten finishes in every playoff race and riding a five-race top-ten streak into the postseason. A close battle with teammate Matt Crafton at Richmond kept him winless through the regular stretch, but the steadiness was enough to lock him into the Championship 4 for the second consecutive year.
He carried a 12-race top-ten streak into the championship race at Phoenix Raceway, where he ultimately finished second to fall one position short in the final standings. Off the track, ThorSport confirmed on August 18, 2025, that Majeski will move to the No. 88 truck in 2026, taking over from the retiring Matt Crafton. The consistent 2025 campaign and the new number set the stage for another championship push in the years ahead.
