NASCAR Drivers Show Off Sales Skills in Fun Instagram Video

NASCAR drivers recently showcased their salesmanship in a light-hearted challenge on Instagram. The video, posted by NASCAR on NBC, featured NASCAR Cup Series drivers Austin Hill, Ryan Blaney, Joey Logano, and others attempting to sell hot chocolate on a hot summer day.

Austin Hill, who competes in the NASCAR Xfinity Series and part-time in the Cup Series for Richard Childress Racing, kept it simple, saying, “I’m not making no money.” Meanwhile, Blaney took a more creative approach, suggesting, “I would offer ’em ice cream with the hot chocolate. I would also buy ice cream cones. Or, I’d just be like ‘Buy this. It’s free, have it.'”

Tyler Reddick of 23XI Racing added humor to the challenge, saying, “Yeah, there’s a deadly disease, if you don’t eat hot chocolate, you’ll die.” Reigning Cup champion Joey Logano offered a unique pitch, stating, “The great thing about being on the beach with a hot chocolate, it will never get cold. You can leave it out in the sun. If you like chocolate, I mean, your chocolate’s gonna melt anyways. Why not get one that’s prepped that way?”

Other drivers, like AJ Allmendinger, William Byron, and Noah Gragson, also gave funny responses. Allmendinger described the relaxing beach setting, saying, “Okay, so we’re out here on the beach, it’s nice and relaxing. I get it, it’s a little warm but at the end of the day what really helps you, just completely relax and become one with the beach. A nice cup of hot chocolate.” Byron simply stated, “It tastes good. It’s chocolatey,” while Gragson joked, “I can sell snow to an Eskimo, man. I’ll be good.”

RCR Expands with a Third Car in 2025

In other NASCAR news, Richard Childress Racing (RCR) has announced plans to add a part-time third car to its NASCAR Cup Series team in 2025. The team’s two full-time cars failed to qualify for the playoffs this year. Although the driver for the third car has not yet been confirmed, Andy Street, who worked as Austin Hill’s crew chief in the Xfinity Series, will lead the effort.

Richard Childress, the team’s owner, expressed confidence in Street’s leadership, saying, “Andy Street brings a wealth of knowledge to our NASCAR Cup Series program as we continue to evaluate ways to build a deeper bench and promote from within. This move gives Andy the chance to gain NextGen experience and have a bigger opportunity on the Cup side while contributing to our Xfinity Series program and working with our alliance partners.”

In related news, Chad Haney will take over as Austin Hill’s crew chief in the NASCAR Xfinity Series, signaling more changes within the team for 2025.

Looking Ahead

With these developments, RCR aims to strengthen its NASCAR Cup Series presence and provide new opportunities for its team members. The addition of a part-time third car could bring fresh perspectives and a boost to the team’s performance in 2025.
