Corey Heim earns top NASCAR Truck Series odds after a dramatic win at Texas Motor Speedway, leaving rivals visibly frustrated and championship predictions shaken. On Saturday, Heim surged through the final overtime restart to secure his third victory of the season, while competitors Ben Rhodes and Daniel Hemric retreated to their pits, disappointment clear after coming so close to the SpeedyCash.com 250 title.
Heim led 96 laps, more than any other contender in the race. As the overtime lap began, he started on the inside of the front row next to Rhodes. When the two swept through the first turns, they matched stride for stride, building an atmosphere heavy with tension. But as they approached Turn 3, with the white flag about to drop, Heim and Rhodes made contact. Rhodes’ No. 99 Ford was forced up the track, opening a slim opportunity for Heim’s No. 11 Toyota to keep ahead of Hemric, who tried one last surge along the bottom lane. The three went three-wide, and in a tense, electrifying finish, Corey Heim crossed the line first, with Rhodes and Hemric trailing close behind.
Rhodes, stung by the outcome, didn’t hide his frustration.
“I think we got used up by the 11 being on the outside line with clean air on both of our noses,”
he told reporters.
“He just decided to run us up the track and out of the groove at both ends of the track. So, you know, I’m not gonna cry about it, but it just stinks.”
Hemric, who slid past Rhodes to capture second, added,
“I knew when they got side by side I’d have a big run. (I) just didn’t have enough left to make it stick.”
Following the win, Corey Heim now leads the NASCAR Truck Series points standings and enters the next round at Kansas Speedway as the clear favorite to win the championship, according to BetOnline Sportsbook. With odds currently set at +130, Heim’s dominance has shifted the championship narrative, putting rivals under mounting pressure as the intensity of the title chase escalates. The coming weeks could see further shakeups while competitors scramble to answer Heim’s relentless pace, hoping for their own breakthrough before his advantage becomes insurmountable.
