Brad Keselowski involved in Nashville NASCAR crash as Corey Heim admits blame after dramatic DNF

During the 2025 NASCAR Cup Series race at Nashville Superspeedway, Brad Keselowski was involved in a significant incident with Corey Heim, resulting in both drivers facing setbacks and Heim exiting the race with a dramatic DNF. As the clash unfolded on June 1, tensions ran high when Heim made contact with Keselowski, an event that has drawn attention to both competitors and amplified scrutiny surrounding their season performances.

Racing Incident on Lap 132 Ends Heim’s Day

Corey Heim, who has been competing full-time for Tricon Garages in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series, added another Cup Series appearance to his resume at Nashville Superspeedway. Piloting the #67 Toyota Camry XSE for 23XI Racing, Heim found himself battling for position in the middle stages of the 399-mile event. During lap 132 of the 300-lap contest, Heim attempted to overtake Brad Keselowski’s #6 Ford as they approached the Turn 4 exit. Running tight on space, Heim’s move resulted in contact with Keselowski, sending both cars into the outside wall and forcing Heim out of the race with a DNF.

Heim openly reflected on the incident, admitting fault and expressing his regret over the outcome.

“I’m pretty sure I just kind of cleared myself across the nose of the 6 (Brad Keselowski). A little bit too desperate. We were moving forward really quickly, and I had a lot of confidence in my Chief’s Camry and thought I could clear him by the time I got to the wall, and just used too much race track, so sorry to those guys. It looks like I kind of ruined his day, too, and never want to do that.”

In his follow-up, Heim highlighted the team’s efforts and insisted on the strong performance they were showing prior to the crash, adding,

“Just can’t say enough about the speed we had. I think if we didn’t start in 33rd, we could have been battling in the top 10. A lot of positives just screwed it up on my part. Huge thank you to 23XI, Toyota, and the Chiefs for coming on board. Definitely had a lot of fun, and looking forward to doing it again,”

This crash ultimately led Heim to a 37th-place finish, just ahead of Noah Gragson, who also failed to finish. For Keselowski, the incident dealt a blow amidst ongoing efforts to build momentum as part of the RFK Racing program.

Heim Confronts On-Track Adversity Amid Stellar Truck Series Season

Despite the disappointment at Nashville, Corey Heim has continued to excel in the Truck Series for Tricon Garages, cementing his status as one of the standout drivers of the 2025 season. His cumulative points tally leads the field, thanks to a string of victories and strong finishes throughout his campaign. However, Heim has also faced a range of unpredictable challenges that have impacted his pursuit of even greater success.

Addressing the hurdles encountered so far, Heim commented,

“I feel like we’ve had a lot of things that have taken us out of various races. Most of it being circumstantial like the engine issue at Homestead or getting spun last week. It’s been a bunch of things.”

Heim’s statistics remain impressive, as he holds four wins, 10 top-10 finishes, and eight top-five results—including four pole positions from 12 starts, further solidifying his lead atop the standings. His determined performances for Tricon Garages and notable appearances with Legacy Motor Club and 23XI Racing have contributed to his growing reputation within the Cup and Truck Series paddocks.

What This Means for the Season Ahead

The incident between Brad Keselowski and Corey Heim at Nashville Superspeedway not only affected the immediate race outcome but also serves as a reminder of the unpredictable nature of NASCAR competition. As both drivers and their teams assess the aftermath, all eyes will be on how Heim continues to navigate a season filled with both triumphs and setbacks. Keselowski’s RFK Racing squad faces its own task of bouncing back after the crash, while Heim aims to extend his dominant Truck Series run despite recent misfortunes on the Cup stage. The evolving dynamic among drivers, teams, and key organizations, including Toyota and 23XI Racing, will shape the narrative of the season as it progresses.
