Team Penske strategist joins Arrow McLaren: Nolan Siegel excited for Honda Indy 200 partnership boost

Nolan Siegel of Arrow McLaren is preparing to work alongside former Team Penske strategist Kyle Moyer, starting with the upcoming Honda Indy 200 at Mid-Ohio, a move the team hopes will bring fresh strategy and insights. The addition of Moyer, a motorsport veteran, is seen as a significant step, as Arrow McLaren looks to strengthen its performance following Siegel’s recent solid showing at Road America.

Kyle Moyer’s Arrival Brings Decades of Experience

Kyle Moyer, who brings over 30 years of expertise in motorsport, has joined Arrow McLaren to guide Nolan Siegel. Moyer previously served as strategist for Scott McLaughlin on the Team Penske squad based in Mooresville, North Carolina, and was appointed General Manager of Team Penske’s NTT IndyCar Chevrolet program in 2019. His vast understanding of race tactics and team management will be a new asset for Siegel as well as for leader Tony Kanaan and the entire Arrow McLaren organization. The collaboration signals a key step in Arrow McLaren’s commitment to competitive strategy on the IndyCar circuit.

Siegel has expressed enthusiasm about the partnership with Moyer, despite not having worked with him before.

“I’ve never met Kyle, but, I’ll meet him this week, try and spend a lot of time with him, get to know him, and I’ve heard nothing but good things. Obviously, I’ve heard of him, known of him, and I’m very very excited to get to work with him. That’s a huge pleasure and learning opportunity for me,”

Siegel’s Strong Performance at Road America

This anticipated partnership follows Siegel’s notable performance at the XPEL Grand Prix at Road America on June 22, 2025, where he secured an eighth-place finish. Starting from P13, Siegel navigated a chaotic 55-lap race that saw multiple drivers taken out by errors and collisions. Despite the challenging conditions, including intense on-track battles and shifting race dynamics, Siegel managed consistent progress up the field—even as he initially feared an unremarkable result.

Reflecting on this eventful race, Siegel stated,

“We had a solid day today, and we had a fast car. We ended up on a funky strategy, and I thought we were going to finish 25th the whole time but ended up on the last stint passing a bunch of cars. The stand was telling me I was 10th, ninth and then eighth and I was like, ‘alright, don’t know where that came from.’ It was nice to find ourselves in that position and have things go our way a bit.”

Looking Ahead to the Honda Indy 200 with Renewed Momentum

As Arrow McLaren sets its sights on the next round of the NTT IndyCar Series, the Honda Indy 200 at Mid-Ohio, Siegel’s promising finish bolsters the team’s optimism. With Moyer’s leadership expected to provide strategic depth, the duo aims to convert experience and preparation into on-track results. Team leader Tony Kanaan and the Arrow McLaren crew are hopeful that this new partnership will spark further progress as the season develops.

The addition of an experienced strategist like Moyer could be pivotal for Siegel’s growth in the series, especially as the competition intensifies. As the field gears up for the Mid-Ohio challenge, both Siegel and Arrow McLaren will be looking to build on their momentum, relying on their strengthened lineup to deliver another strong performance.
