Corey LaJoie to Drive 4th RFK Car in 2026 Daytona 500

Corey LaJoie will race in a fourth open entry for RFK Racing at the 2026 Daytona 500, the team revealed on January 20. This marks a significant opportunity for LaJoie and increases RFK Racing’s presence at the iconic Daytona International Speedway, with hopes of strengthening their team strategy for the event.

Trimble to Support LaJoie’s Return to the No. 99

LaJoie will pilot the No. 99 car with sponsorship from Trimble. This marks the first time since the Roush Fenway Racing era that No. 99 returns as an RFK entry, last seen full-time in 2014 and in a part-time effort during 2016. Trimble’s backing for LaJoie not only supports his Daytona 500 drive but also includes sponsorship of RFK’s main three entries in 11 races throughout the season.

Expanding Team Strategy at Daytona with a Fourth Car

The announcement of LaJoie’s addition to the team comes after he was named as Brad Keselowski’s substitute for the Cook Out Clash at Bowman Gray Stadium, while Keselowski recovers from injury. RFK Racing’s decision to run four cars at Daytona represents a strategic move designed to provide Ford Racing with a greater chance for success at the superspeedway.

“From a competition standpoint, having a fourth car gives us and Ford Racing a better chance to win the Daytona 500,”

Keselowski said in a team release.

“It’s not just about adding another entry. Superspeedway racing is about cooperation and having an additional car allows us to be more effective in forming drafting alliances, controlling lanes and putting ourselves in position when it matters most.”

LaJoie Relishes His Best Daytona Opportunity

LaJoie, who raced part time in the NASCAR Cup Series in 2025 with Rick Ware Racing and notched a best result of 22nd in the Daytona 500, now joins RFK for what he says is his greatest chance yet at the event.

“This is a dream come true to get an opportunity with RFK Racing at the Daytona 500,”

LaJoie added.

“This is without a doubt, the best car and opportunity I’ve had at Daytona [International Speedway]. I’m grateful for the trust they’ve placed in me.”

Looking Ahead to the 2026 Daytona 500

With Trimble’s commitment and the return of the No. 99, both RFK Racing and Corey LaJoie are positioned to make a notable impact at the next Daytona 500. The additional fourth car not only enhances Ford Racing’s team tactics but also offers LaJoie a new chapter in his NASCAR Cup Series career. As the racing season approaches, attention will focus on LaJoie’s performance and RFK Racing’s expanded efforts at Daytona International Speedway.
