Spire Motorsports has finalized a long-term agreement with Carson Hocevar, ensuring the talented 23-year-old driver will continue to compete in the team’s No. 77 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 for years to come. This significant move, centered on the Spire Motorsports long-term agreement, marks a major step for both the team and Hocevar as they look toward future NASCAR Cup Series seasons.
Securing a Key Talent for the Future
Carson Hocevar, originally from Portage, Michigan, earned the 2024 NASCAR Cup Series Rookie of the Year title and has rapidly become one of the division’s most talked-about competitors. Supported by major sponsors such as Chili’s Grill and Bar, Delaware Life, MINER, Modo Casino, and Zeigler Automotive Group in 2025, Hocevar delivered a standout sophomore season that included his first career pole, two second-place finishes, and nine top-ten results. His momentum and growing profile made him a priority for Spire Motorsports.
Team Leadership Celebrates the Agreement
The announcement of Hocevar’s contract extension drew high praise from Spire Motorsports Co-Owner Jeff Dickerson, who expressed both personal and professional satisfaction with the deal.
“It’s a pretty big moment for our company to announce an extension with Carson (Hocevar) that takes us out for multiple years,”
said Jeff Dickerson, Spire Motorsports Co-Owner.
“It’s not just about knowing he’ll be here with us for the long-haul, but it gives our sponsors and competition group the foresight to make their own plans knowing he’s in the seat of the No. 77 as far as we can see. It has been an absolutely rewarding experience getting to know Carson and watching him grow up, and learn from the good and bad both at and away from the racetrack. I love him like a son and it means a great deal to me, personally, knowing he’ll be here for several years. I expect this announcement could test the effectiveness of my blood pressure medication, so I’ve alerted my physician he may have to adjust the dosage appropriately but, it’ll be worth it.”

Rising Through the NASCAR Ranks
Hocevar impressed during his rookie campaign in 2024, securing one top-five, six top-ten, and thirteen top-fifteen finishes. He notably achieved a then-personal best third place at the Cup Series race in Watkins Glen, New York. As the third Michigan-born driver to earn rookie of the year honors, Hocevar led all first-year drivers in 15 out of 36 points events and ended the season with 686 points, 107 more than the closest rookie competitor.

Reflections from Carson Hocevar
Hocevar’s enthusiasm for his new contract and racing with Spire Motorsports was clear in his remarks about the opportunity and environment the team provides.
“I love to race and there’s really no place better to race than here,”
said Carson Hocevar.
Expanding His Racing Horizons
The new agreement will allow Hocevar to deepen his roles across multiple series and disciplines. He is set to bolster Spire Motorsports’ No. 77 NASCAR CRAFTSMAN Truck Series team in 2026 by participating in the maximum number of events permitted by NASCAR rules. Additionally, Hocevar will return for select appearances in the team’s dirt late model and compete for victories in top-tier pavement super late model races nationwide.
“This shows we’re all committed and eager to race with each other for a long time,”
continued Carson Hocevar.
“I think of Jeff (Dickerson) as a father figure, but the same could be said for Luke (Lambert, crew chief), Tyler (Green, spotter), Bill (Anthony, Spire Motorsports’ president) and all the No. 77 guys. Everyone in the building, has really become a family to me. Spire is such a different team now compared to how it was my rookie season, and especially when I made my debut in 2023. It’s fun to know I’m going to be around the Cup garage for a long time, and really a dream come true.”
