Niece Motorsports Honors Greg Biffle With Daytona Tribute

Niece Motorsports is set to pay a special tribute to late NASCAR icon Greg Biffle during the NASCAR CRAFTSMAN Truck Series (NCTS) season opener at Daytona International Speedway on February 13, 2026. This heartfelt homage will feature unique truck designs and community initiatives that celebrate Biffle’s enduring legacy, as Niece Motorsports Greg Biffle tribute becomes the centerpiece of the team’s Daytona effort.

A Season-Opening Homage to a NASCAR Legend

The racing community continues to grapple with the tragic loss of Greg Biffle, who along with his wife Cristina, daughter Emma, son Ryder, Dennis and Jack Dutton, and Craig Wadsworth, died last December. Many members of the Niece Motorsports team built their careers at Roush-Fenway Racing—now known as RFK Racing—during the years Biffle raced there, making this tribute deeply personal for Cody and Amanda Efaw, Phil Gould, Ron Paradiso, Tim Mooney, Brian Eastland, Brian Bottlemy, and David LaFleur, among others. The entire organization feels the weight and inspiration of honoring not just a colleague, but a friend and hero.

Custom Livery and Community Spirit at Daytona

For the season opener, all four Niece Motorsports trucks will carry a custom number font, closely resembling Biffle’s iconic No. 16, as a visual reminder of his impact on the sport. Every truck will also display “Be Like Biff” decals, which urge fans to show kindness and give back, reinforcing the charitable philosophy Biffle was known for throughout his career and life in North Carolina.

Garrett Mitchell Carries on Biffle’s Legacy

Biffle’s protégé and close friend, Garrett Mitchell—widely recognized as Cleetus McFarland—is slated to make his NCTS debut behind the wheel of the No. 4 Black Rifle Coffee Company Chevrolet. This milestone marks the next step in Mitchell’s ambition to compete in the DAYTONA 500. Mitchell, who contemplated stepping away from racing in the wake of Biffle’s death, has decided to pursue the path they had envisioned together.

“I was really lucky to have the opportunity to have Greg Biffle as my mentor in every race I ran last year,”

said Mitchell.

“He gave me all the details and information about every mistake I made right after the race, which was priceless from a driver like Greg, who had put in so much time behind the steering wheel of a stock car.”

– Garrett Mitchell

“Not only was he such a great driver, but he was a humanitarian who did so much for the community and everyone around North Carolina,”

Mitchell continued.

“He was such a loved guy, and it’s so cool to represent him in just a small way with his number font and the ‘Be Like Biff’ decals on our trucks.”

– Garrett Mitchell

Remembering Biffle’s Humanitarian Work

Celebrated as one of NASCAR’s 75 Greatest Drivers in 2023, Greg Biffle was famed not only for his competitive edge but also for his extensive humanitarian outreach. Niece Motorsports plans to follow in his footsteps, collaborating with charities Biffle supported, such as the American Red Cross and Lake Norman Humane, where Greg and Cristina Biffle served on the board of directors.

After Hurricane Helene, Biffle piloted his private plane to deliver vital supplies to isolated regions of western North Carolina—a feat that garnered him the esteemed Myers Brothers Award in 2024, presented to

“individuals and/or groups who have provided outstanding contributions to the sport of stock car racing.”

Public Blood Drive and Shop Tours to Honor Biffle and Family

In honor of Greg Biffle and the others lost in the December plane crash, Niece Motorsports will partner with the American Red Cross to host a blood drive at their Salisbury, NC, shop on Monday, March 2, from 9 am to 1 pm. Attendees who donate blood will receive a complimentary tour of the team’s facilities.

During March, the American Red Cross will provide free A1C diabetes screening with all blood, platelet, or plasma donations, and those who participate will also receive a $15 Amazon gift card. The aim is to transform tragedy into action, uniting fans and the public in remembrance and support.

Fellow Drivers Join the Tribute Effort

Greg Biffle maintained strong relationships within the racing community, mentoring and befriending many, including Travis Pastrana and Ricky Stenhouse Jr. Travis Pastrana, who raced for RFK Racing in 2013 and now returns in the No. 42 BRUNT Workwear Chevrolet at Daytona, reflected on Biffle’s influence:

“He was a mentor when I started racing NASCAR, under his wing at Roush, and more recently, a friend. The racing community lost a legend, and the world lost a great group of people. The Biffles will be greatly missed, but never forgotten.”

– Travis Pastrana

Ricky Stenhouse Jr., another former teammate, will also make his NCTS debut at Daytona, driving the No. 45 J.F. Electric Chevrolet. He praised the tribute:

“It’s such a cool thing that Niece Motorsports is doing with these tributes on our trucks in Daytona,”

said Stenhouse Jr.

“We lost a great person in Greg. He was one of the coolest dudes I’ve ever been a teammate with. Any time I see that number font, I always think of the Biff and what he was able to accomplish on and off the racetrack. It was a huge loss for all of us, and we hope to represent him well by putting it in victory lane.”

– Ricky Stenhouse Jr.

After the race, McFarland, Pastrana, and Stenhouse Jr. will sign race-used pit wall banners and donate them to Lake Norman Humane for fundraising efforts, supporting the rescue and adoption of animals—an organization dear to Biffle’s heart.

The Daytona Race and Continuing Biffle’s Influence

The highly anticipated NASCAR CRAFTSMAN Truck Series opener at Daytona International Speedway is scheduled for Friday, February 13 at 7:30 pm ET, to be televised on FOX Sports 1 and the NASCAR Racing Network. As the field takes the green flag, fans and competitors will see the visual reminders of Greg Biffle’s legacy, both in competition and in the broader racing family.

This season, Niece Motorsports’ tribute is more than a one-time event. It signals an ongoing commitment to channel Biffle’s spirit—one defined by fierce competition, mentorship, and generosity—ensuring his memory inspires current and future generations both on and off the track.
