Hendrick Motorsports Signs Major Contract Extension With Larson

Kyle Larson, a two-time NASCAR Cup Series champion, has committed his future to Hendrick Motorsports through a major contract extension. On February 11, the renowned racing organization confirmed that Larson will continue driving the No. 5 Chevrolet Camaro under a new five-year agreement, locking him in well beyond his current contract’s 2026 expiration.

HendrickCars.com Maintains Sponsorship through 2029

Alongside Larson’s extension, HendrickCars.com has also inked a five-year deal to stay on as the No. 5 team’s primary sponsor. The company will headline the car for 35 out of 38 races each season, providing sustained support that ensures stability for both Larson and the team moving forward.

Larson Expresses Gratitude for Ongoing Partnership

“I’m incredibly grateful to continue my career with Hendrick Motorsports and HendrickCars.com,”

Larson said, demonstrating his deep appreciation for the organization’s backing.

“We’ve accomplished a lot together, but I truly believe the best is still ahead. I’m grateful to Mr. Hendrick and JB (Jeffrey Brown, president of Hendrick Automotive Group) for believing in me, and I’m excited to keep chasing wins and championships with Cliff and the 5 team for many more years.”

Crew Chief Cliff Daniels Also Commits for the Future

Hendrick Motorsports further solidified its core by announcing a multi-year contract extension for crew chief Cliff Daniels. While the precise duration of Daniels’ new deal remains undisclosed, retaining his expertise alongside Larson emphasizes the team’s commitment to long-term success.

Examining Larson’s Championship Achievements

Since joining Hendrick Motorsports in 2021, Larson’s partnership with Daniels has propelled the team to exceptional heights. In their first season together, Larson topped the points leaderboard with 10 Cup Series victories, adding an All-Star Race win and leading a record-setting 2,581 laps. His efforts culminated in a championship that year, establishing an immediate legacy for the new driver-crew chief pairing.

The following years have seen continued excellence, especially in the Gen 7 era. Larson has captured 16 additional wins between 2022 and 2025, including another Cup Series championship. Throughout this period, he delivered 77 top-10 finishes and consistently led more than 1,100 laps in three of the last four seasons. Notably, his total laps led outpaces every other driver in the series by over 2,000, marking him as a standout competitor in the field.

What This Means for Hendrick Motorsports and NASCAR

With the Hendrick Motorsports contract extension now in place, Larson is poised to pursue further victories and titles alongside Daniels and the No. 5 crew. As the team enters the next phase of NASCAR competition, this renewed partnership is expected to reinforce their dominance and inspire continued success, reflecting the organization’s dedication to maintaining its championship legacy.
