TrackHouse Racing Shines in Thrilling Daytona Duels

TrackHouse Racing at Daytona made a significant impact during the recent Daytona Duels, with drivers showcasing resilience and adaptability on the high banks of Daytona International Speedway. The team’s strategic approach and ability to handle intense moments set the stage for a promising start in the upcoming Daytona 500.

Shane van Gisbergen Advances Despite Early Setbacks

Shane van Gisbergen did not achieve his ideal qualifying position but focused on staying patient and safe in the opening laps. By conserving fuel and steering clear of incidents, van Gisbergen was able to work his way up through the field as the race progressed.

“We obviously didn’t qualify as well as we would have liked. We missed it a little bit. But once the race started, our No. 97 SuperFile Chevy was really nice. We were just patient at the start; saving fuel and riding in the back being safe. Once we were ready to go, I could creep up the pack quite nicely. It was really fun to be competitive and put ourselves in a good spot. We got close to a couple of wrecks but missed them. We had a good pit stop, and it worked out really well. It’s a good starting spot for Sunday.”

This measured strategy paid off, as a solid pit stop and avoidance of on-track incidents allowed van Gisbergen to secure a favorable position for Sunday’s feature race.

Connor Zilisch Gains Experience and Looks Ahead to Main Event

Connor Zilisch ran near the front throughout the Duel, trying different lanes and tactics while learning from each lap. Despite feeling he could have maximized more from his position, Zilisch remains optimistic about his upcoming race in the Daytona 500 with the TrackHouse Racing Chevrolet team.

“I don’t think I made the most of what I had. I was running probably fifth or sixth in line on the top, and when I got down, I just didn’t get the pushes I needed to make the lane go. But overall, we ran up front and I felt everything I wanted to. I did what I came here to accomplish. We get to race this car on Sunday, so I’m excited for it with this No. 88 Trackhouse Racing Chevrolet team and everybody that makes this happen.”

Zilisch’s experience in the Duel serves as valuable preparation for the challenges ahead at Daytona International Speedway.

Ross Chastain Battles Through Superspeedway Chaos

Ross Chastain’s Duel race featured intense, unpredictable moments, including contact and a spin while maneuvering through the pack. Despite being caught up in another car’s misfortune, Chastain looks forward to a reset for Sunday’s event.

“We had a good Busch Light Chevy tonight. I just saw a car spinning and then I got ran into the back of, like somebody ran in the back of me a couple times. I was just slowing down and got turned. Now the guys have some work to do to the car but I guess that’s superspeedway racing. I’m looking forward to the Daytona 500 on Sunday.”

— Ross Chastain, TrackHouse Racing Driver

The team will have to address repairs, but Chastain’s resolve remains firm, keeping eyes set on the main race.

TrackHouse Racing’s Outlook for Sunday’s Daytona 500

With each driver facing different challenges during the Duel at Daytona, TrackHouse Racing at Daytona enters race day with valuable experience and strong starting positions. As Sunday approaches, all eyes will be on how van Gisbergen, Zilisch, and Chastain carry forward the momentum from their performances. Their teamwork, adaptability, and persistence through the heat of competition will be key factors as they target a standout result in the Daytona 500.
