Kaulig Racing achieved a top-15 result at the 2024 Daytona 500, with Ty Dillon leading the way in their No. 10 Grizzly Nicotine Pouches Chevrolet. The team competed fiercely throughout the highly anticipated NASCAR event at Daytona International Speedway, using experience and resilience to secure an impressive season opener in a race known for its unpredictability.
Ty Dillon Reflects on Performance and Team Progress
Ty Dillon powered the No. 10 Chevrolet into the lead at various points during the race, demonstrating the speed the team built over the weekend. Dillon praised the crew’s relentless effort on the car, expressing satisfaction that the car peaked at the critical final stage. In his words:
“I feel really good about the day for our No. 10 Grizzly Nicotine Pouches Chevrolet team. A top-15 finish to start the year is nothing to frown about. Our Grizzly Camaro was strong. We were able to lead laps in the DAYTONA 500 again and run up front most of the day. We just need to clean up a few things so we can stay up front at the right times. I’m proud of this team’s effort. Everyone worked hard all week to continue to chip away at this race car. By the time we got to the last stage, it was the best it had been all weekend. That’s all you can ask for, and we’ll go to Atlanta with some momentum.”

This finish positions Kaulig Racing to capitalize on early momentum as they prepare for the next round of races, including the upcoming event in Atlanta. Ty Dillon’s leadership and the effort from everyone on the team were key factors in navigating the challenging field and dynamic race conditions.
AJ Allmendinger Shares His Daytona 500 Experience
AJ Allmendinger, also competing for Kaulig Racing, described the challenges and strategy decisions his team faced during the event. He explained how patience and precision helped him avoid major incidents, although restarts and lane choices left him frustrated at times. Allmendinger recounted a wild moment late in the race but was ultimately relieved to avoid serious trouble. He commented:

“Just one of those races where you are just trying to be smart and be patient. Just trying to be smart the first two-thirds of the race and not getting in anything. Did a good job of that. We had to wait a little longer and I was basically at the tail end of the pack and we made a call there to try to do tires and it’s just hard to go anywhere on those restarts. I felt like every lane I would get in, I would get checked up and go to the back again. Technically, we missed the wreck, didn’t save it and did a 360 and that cost us some spots. But, yeah, just happy to come out unscathed and all in one piece and go do this again in Atlanta.”

His experience reflects the unpredictable nature of racing at Daytona, where even strong strategy can be upended in seconds due to on-track incidents, changing lanes, and race restarts.
What’s Ahead for Kaulig Racing After Daytona
The results at Daytona International Speedway showcase the resilience and potential of Kaulig Racing as they look toward the rest of the NASCAR Cup Series season. With Ty Dillon’s impressive top-15 finish and AJ Allmendinger’s survival in a treacherous field, the team has laid a solid foundation. The next test will come quickly as the team heads to Atlanta, aiming to build on the progress and teamwork displayed at the Daytona 500. The performance at Daytona sets a positive tone and boosts confidence for the battles to come this year.
