Tyler Reddick achieved a milestone at the Daytona 500, delivering not only a long-awaited win for himself but also making Tyler Reddick Daytona NASCAR history. The Sunday victory at Daytona International Speedway broke a lengthy winless drought and etched his name onto an exclusive list of drivers, while creating meaningful moments for his team and family.
Breaking the Drought and Marking Personal Triumphs
Reddick’s win at the Daytona 500 snapped a 38-race streak without a victory. What made the occasion even more extraordinary was celebrating in Victory Lane with his infant son, Rookie, who had recently overcome major surgery for a kidney tumor. The scene marked a personal triumph for Reddick and was filled with emotional resonance for his family and teammates.
A First for 23XI Racing and Michael Jordan
The victory brought significant success to 23XI Racing, co-owned by basketball legend Michael Jordan. It marked their first win in the Great American Race, coming on the heels of Bubba Wallace‘s Brickyard 400 success the previous year. Notably, all three of 23XI’s full-time drivers secured top ten finishes for the first time—a testament to the team’s strength and growth since its inception.
Joining Elite Company with NASCAR Legends
Reddick’s performance also placed him in a rare group of drivers who have won across different series at Daytona. He became just the second driver, following Kyle Busch, to claim victory at the iconic track in NASCAR’s Truck, Xfinity, and Cup Series. Reddick’s journey began with his Truck Series win at Daytona in 2015, continued with a Xfinity Series triumph at the same venue in 2018, and reached its peak with the 2026 Cup win.

“With his victory in Sunday’s #DAYTONA500, @TylerReddick joins @KyleBusch as the only drivers to win a race in each of NASCAR’s National Series at Daytona International Speedway. The one difference? All of Reddick’s wins came in February,”
posted journalist Joseph Srigley on X.
Achieving a February-Only Sweep at Daytona
Though Kyle Busch matched Reddick’s achievement in winning across all three NASCAR levels at Daytona, Reddick stands out as the only competitor to take all his victories in February. This detail puts him in a category of one, as he claimed Truck, Xfinity, and Cup triumphs during the same wintry month—a feat previously undocumented, even to Reddick himself.
“I wondered that. Yeah, since I won the Xfinity race here, I was telling myself I need to pick it up and win a dang Cup race here. Obviously, the 500. That is interesting,”
said Reddick.
“I wondered if that was a thing or not, so I’m glad you told me. Something about February in Daytona works okay with me. I like racing here a lot in the summer, too, obviously. It’s a lot more slick, and handling is a factor,”
Reddick continued.
“But whether it was the Truck race or that Xfinity race — sorry, the O’Reilly Auto Parts race a couple years ago or today, all three days when I rolled into the racetrack, obviously three totally different phases of my life, on those three days, something just felt right, and it came to be reality,”
he added.
Unique Victory Conditions and More Historic Marks
Beyond his February accomplishments, Reddick secured another historic milestone by winning the Daytona 500 after leading only the final lap. In the process, he became just the fourth driver to claim this dramatic style of victory at the event and joined team co-owner Hamlin as the only other Toyota drivers to achieve the feat.
The Daytona 500 win also marked Reddick’s first so-called “crown-jewel” triumph in the NASCAR Cup Series and represented the tenth victory for the emerging 23XI Racing team. Adding to his legacy, Reddick is now among a distinguished group that includes Jeff Gordon, Kyle Busch, and Bill Elliott—drivers who notched their first nine Cup victories at nine separate tracks. Each name represents an important chapter in the evolution of the sport, and Reddick has now written his own.
What Reddick’s Record Means for NASCAR’s Future
Tyler Reddick’s Daytona NASCAR history is significant not only for his personal record book but also for the growing prominence of 23XI Racing and its star-studded leadership. With Michael Jordan’s team quickly stacking up landmark achievements, and drivers like Bubba Wallace and Denny Hamlin building momentum, NASCAR fans can expect even more compelling moments ahead. Reddick’s February sweep underscores the unpredictable and emotional nature of racing at Daytona, adding a new chapter to the sport’s ongoing history.
