Noah Gragson delivered a determined effort in Sunday’s EchoPark Speedway contest, finishing 14th after a day filled with late-race setbacks and tightly contested battles. His race performance, marked by resilience and perseverance, kept him in contention among a competitive field throughout the event.
Gragson’s Day from a Strong Start to a Tough Finish
The race began on a positive note for Gragson, as he held a spot among the leaders, closing out Stage One in 12th position. Racing near the front during much of the early action showcased the team’s solid preparation and the speed of his car.
However, as the race pushed into Stage Two, circumstances shifted. Gragson dropped to 24th after the sequence of intense restarts and position changes. Despite the setback, he kept the focus on recovery and gaining ground in the closing laps.
At the checkered flag, Gragson crossed the line in 14th place. Reflecting on the race, Gragson explained,
“We started in a good spot and raced up front for most of the day. The last few restarts just didn’t really pan out for us, and we lost a little track position because of it. Ultimately, I was happy with the handling and the speed of our car and happy to finish these first two crazy races clean with solid results.”

Strong Outcomes and Setbacks Among Teammates and Competitors
While Gragson fought for positions inside the top fifteen, Zane Smith emerged with a seventh-place result after managing adversity of his own. Smith’s early stages saw him ranked 13th and 12th before rallying back post trouble to score a top-ten. He credited his team for continuous adjustments, as he shared,
“My Aaron’s Rent-to-Own Ford Mustang didn’t start out great…I felt like we made big gains…I had a loose left-rear tire after we took right side tires…I’m proud of everyone. I wish we scored stage points today because that would have been great, but with that said, we’ve had a couple of great results and a couple great weekends. Hopefully, we can keep going.”

Todd Gilliland, also in the mix, experienced a more difficult outing. Finishing 25th after a struggle with car handling and involvement in an incident, Gilliland noted,
“This isn’t anywhere near the result we wanted…we seemed to be making progress, we got caught up in that wreck. It’s frustrating, but COTA is a new race with new opportunities, so we’ll come out swinging.”

What Gragson’s Performance Means Going Forward
Noah Gragson’s race performance at EchoPark Speedway continues a trend of determined driving and solid finishes for his season. While not breaking into the top ten this time, his ability to contend with fast competitors like Zane Smith and to navigate late-race chaos speaks to the growth and consistency of both driver and team. As the circuit shifts its attention to upcoming events, including the new challenge at COTA, Gragson’s steady presence in the points and clean race outcomes suggest further promise for the races ahead. The focus now turns to building on these results, with the team targeting even stronger finishes as they compete against top talents such as Tyler Reddick and look to move closer to the front in coming weeks.
