Front Row Motorsports Battles Back at Phoenix Raceway

Front Row Motorsports showcased determination at Phoenix Raceway, as Todd Gilliland, Zane Smith, and Noah Gragson confronted challenging circumstances but pressed on to finish their races. As the team faced mishaps and setbacks throughout Sunday’s NASCAR Cup Series event, their resilience marked a pivotal point heading towards the Vegas race, highlighting “Front Row Motorsports Phoenix Raceway in the motorsports narrative.

Todd Gilliland Secures Encouraging Finish

Todd Gilliland delivered a notable performance, running inside the top 15 despite adversity in the final laps. He started the race strong, ending Stage One in 21st position. By the conclusion of Stage Two, Gilliland had maneuvered into the 10th spot, gaining valuable stage points. Ultimately, he crossed the finish line in 12th place, an uplifting result for the team after a tough stretch of races. Gilliland expressed his relief at the outcome and the points scored, despite an incident on pit road that threatened his momentum late in the day.

“It’s nice to leave a racetrack with a stage point and strong result after how the last three weeks have gone,”

said Gilliland.

“Even after the mishap on pit road late in the race, we still managed to score a top-15. It’s really encouraging heading into Vegas.”

Zane Smith Endures Penalties to Finish Race

Zane Smith encountered difficulties almost immediately, starting with a penalty that resulted in a pass-through and put him a lap down in the opening stage, where he finished 35th. Smith improved his pace to finish Stage Two in 16th. Despite this recovery, he ultimately concluded the race in 27th, after another incident beyond his control interfered with his progress. Smith’s comments reflected both the frustration and determination inherent in a long NASCAR season.

“Really proud of the way we fought all day,”

said Smith.

“Obviously we got put behind with the penalty and going a lap down first stage with the pass through, but we made strides to eventually get ourselves in a good spot for the last stint and just got caught up in someone else’s mess again. Really frustrating but thankfully it’s a long a season.”

Noah Gragson Hits Trouble Early

Noah Gragson dealt with the most significant setback for Front Row Motorsports, suffering a mechanical failure on his car’s right front that resulted in a blown tire and forced him out of the race. Gragson was running in the 36th position through both stages and finished 36th overall. Though disappointed, he remained hopeful, recalling past comebacks and looking ahead to the next race at Las Vegas as an opportunity for redemption.

“We blew a right-front rotor and then it blew the tire out,”

said Gragson.

“I started getting a long pedal a couple of laps prior to that and I made a comment about it after about a half lap saying, ‘Hey, my pedal is starting to get really long.’ So, I started lifting early and then it blew into one and then blew the tire wheel in half and all the air-pressure left the tire. It was a hard hit, but it is what it is. It definitely sucks having to go early next week in qualifying and try to put this behind us at Vegas, but, at the same time, this is the most amount of points I’ve had coming into Phoenix in my career into Vegas. Two years ago, we were in the negatives and climbed back up into the top 24 in points, so we’ll just go on and work hard. It’s just a bummer that we didn’t get to the end today.”

Looking Ahead to Las Vegas

The intense and emotionally charged day at Phoenix Raceway demonstrated the resilience of Front Row Motorsports, as drivers overcame penalties, pit road issues, and mechanical failures. Todd Gilliland’s points result was a positive takeaway for the team, while Zane Smith and Noah Gragson maintained focus on the season’s long-term prospects. Their efforts set the stage for the upcoming event in Las Vegas, where each driver and the organization as a whole aim to build on the resolve and lessons learned at Phoenix.
