Kaulig Racing’s Bold RAM Partnership Fuels Massive Truck Expansion

Kaulig Racing has made a significant move in the NASCAR world by joining forces with the RAM brand, strengthening both its racing ambitions and brand identity. The Kaulig Racing RAM partnership, celebrated by team owner Matt Kaulig, has also driven an impressive expansion in the Truck Series, marking a pivotal moment for the team’s growth.

Kaulig Racing and RAM Align on Aggression and Ambition

Matt Kaulig recently outlined the evolution of Kaulig Racing in an interview with SiriusXM NASCAR Radio, emphasizing that RAM’s rugged persona matches the team’s drive and style. Over the past eleven seasons, Kaulig Racing has progressed from a single-entry team in the O’Reilly Auto Parts Series to fielding two Cup Series teams and now five trucks, reflecting its rapid development in multiple top-tier series. Kaulig noted that embracing RAM’s characteristic boldness complements how the organization approaches competition.

“To say that we’re really aggressive about how we go about things, just just fits really well with the RAM brand. I mean, I don’t think there’s anything more aggressive and more badass than like a ram truck. And so American badass RAM trucks going into the Craftsman Truck series with Kaulig Racing. I mean, we’ve embraced that with open arms,”

The expanded truck lineup reflects ambitious moves, including securing the series’ counterpart Tony Stewart under the team’s Free Agent Program. Additionally, Kaulig Racing awarded its fifth truck seat to the victor of RAM’s reality competition Race for the Seat”—a series co-produced by UFC President Dana White’s media company—further integrating popular personalities and fresh talent into the team’s ranks.

Strong Performances and Rising Stars in the Truck Series

Early results from the partnership have been promising. Kaulig Racing has already claimed three top-10 finishes in the Truck Series. Brenden Queen, quickly gaining attention as a breakout star, started strong with a seventh-place showing at Daytona and continued to post solid results, including mid-pack finishes at Atlanta and St. Petersburg, which placed him 11th in the final Truck Series standings. Notably, RAM’s representative Justin Haley also broke into the top-10, signaling competitiveness among the lineup’s newest additions such as Queen and seasoned drivers like Stewart.

The team’s focus on emerging talent and innovative recruitment tactics—highlighted by collaborations with figures like Dana White—has made Kaulig Racing a focal point for NASCAR watchers this season. Looking forward, RAM is expected to advance its presence even further, with early plans to enter a Cup Series team by 2027, potentially shaking up the series’ power balance and deepening the impact of this partnership in the years to come.

Challenges on Track: COTA Incident for AJ Allmendinger

The journey hasn’t been without obstacles. At Circuit of the Americas (COTA), Kaulig Racing driver AJ Allmendinger experienced a serious cool suit malfunction that forced him to the care center after the race, highlighting the intense conditions faced by competitors. Despite the malfunction—which also affected Kyle Larson and Ryan Preece—Allmendinger managed to finish in the top-10, an impressive feat under grueling circumstances.

“I guess you just put it like put yourself in the smallest box possible where you’re sitting down in it and there’s nowhere to move and and just crank the heat up as as high as it goes and and you know, the heat is one thing, but at the end of the day, it’s like anxiety starts building, right? Where you know you can’t get out or you know. I guess at the end of the day I could have gotten out but you don’t want to get out and you just it’s almost like panic sets in a little bit,”

Currently, Allmendinger holds 13th in the points standings, staying ahead of teammate Ty Dillon—driver of the No.25 RAM Truck—who secured 11th at Atlanta. The Kaulig Racing RAM partnership is not only reaping rewards in results but also showing the team’s resilience in facing adversity on and off the track.

The Road Ahead: What the Partnership Means

The collaboration between Kaulig Racing and RAM sends a clear signal of both brands’ intentions to remain competitive and innovative within NASCAR. The team’s energetic expansion, fresh recruitment model, and early on-track results have elevated its profile for fans and competitors alike. As RAM eyes a leap into the Cup Series by 2027, Kaulig Racing’s trajectory will be watched closely, with expectations that the partnership will bring new challenges and possibly redefine their standing in professional stock car racing.
