Blake D. Lothian Bio
Blake D. Lothian (born July 26, 2002) is an American professional stock car racing driver. A native of Wellesley, Massachusetts, he has worked his way up through karts, legend cars, and NASCAR’s development ladder to compete in several national touring series. Most recently, he has been a part-time entrant in the NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series, the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series, the ARCA Menards Series, and the ARCA Menards Series West.
Early Life and Background
Blake D. Lothian was born on July 26, 2002, in Wellesley, Massachusetts. He grew up in the same town and attended Wellesley High School, where he graduated in the Class of 2021. From an early age, his family and hometown environment supported his interest in motorsports, and the Northeast racing scene provided his earliest tracks and competitions.
Lothian began racing at the age of five, starting in go-karts. That early start laid the groundwork for a structured path through open-wheel and entry-level stock car machinery, and it gave him a chance to learn race craft, car control, and track discipline before moving into heavier cars.
Path to NASCAR
From 2014 to 2017, Lothian raced in the F1 Boston Series, a popular indoor karting championship. He won the F1 Boston Series championship in 2017, and that same year he also captured the Summer 2017 New Hampshire Karting Association Series Championship, signaling that he was ready for a step up in equipment.
In 2019, he spent the majority of his season driving legend cars for Rev Racing, gaining experience on larger ovals and learning the basics of stock car racing. That same year, he was named one of eight drivers in the NASCAR Drive for Diversity Youth Driver Development Program, an important step that connected him with national-level resources and paved the way for his later entry into NASCAR’s national touring series.
Blake D. Lothian Career
Early Career (2014–2019)
Lothian’s early career was built on karting championships in the Northeast. Between 2014 and 2017, he competed in the F1 Boston Series, winning the series title in 2017. He also won the Summer 2017 New Hampshire Karting Association Series Championship, establishing himself as one of the top young karters in the region.
Transitioning out of karts, Lothian moved into legend cars in 2019 with Rev Racing, logging seat time on oval tracks and continuing his development through the NASCAR Drive for Diversity Youth Driver Development Program. These steps gave him the foundation he needed to test at the ARCA Menards Series level and ultimately to attempt his first national NASCAR race.
ARCA Menards Series West Breakthrough (2025)
On December 1, 2024, it was revealed that Lothian would compete full-time in the ARCA Menards Series West in 2025, driving the No. 51 Chevrolet SS for the new Strike Mamba Racing team. His first start in the series came at the West Coast Stock Car Motorsports Hall of Fame 150 at Kern County, and he went on to record a best series finish of fifth in the 2025 standings. Across his West starts, he posted seven top-ten finishes without a win or a pole.
NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series (2022–2025)
On April 4, 2022, it was announced that Lothian would make his NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series debut in the No. 43 entry for Reaume Brothers Racing at Martinsville Speedway. He finished 28th in that debut race and later returned to the team at Gateway and IRP, where a driveshaft issue left him with a 35th-place result. He continued to work with Reaume Brothers Racing in 2023.
In 2024, Lothian returned to the Craftsman Truck Series at Martinsville, this time with Young’s Motorsports, but overheating issues forced him out after 17 laps and he was classified 34th. On September 4, 2025, it was announced that he would rejoin Reaume Brothers Racing for the EJP 175 at New Hampshire Motor Speedway. His best Truck Series points finish to date is 59th in 2025, with no wins, poles, or top-ten finishes at the national level.
NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series Era (2026–Present)
On February 5, 2026, it was announced that Lothian would take part in the NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series preseason test at Rockingham Speedway with Joey Gase Motorsports with Scott Osteen. He has since competed in the series driving the No. 35 and No. 55 entries, with his first race being the 2026 North Carolina Education Lottery 250 at Rockingham and his most recent start being the 2026 BetRivers 200 at Dover. He is still building his resume at the national O’Reilly Auto Parts Series level, with no wins, top tens, or poles recorded to date.
ARCA Menards Series (2022–2025)
In 2022, Lothian participated in an ARCA Menards Series testing session for Mullins Racing, an early chance to evaluate his stock car skills on a national stage. His first ARCA Menards Series race came at the 2025 General Tire 150 at Phoenix. He finished the 2025 ARCA Menards Series campaign 115th in the standings, with no wins, top tens, or poles.
Driving Style and Strengths
Lothian’s background is rooted in tight, technical karting circuits in the Northeast, which has helped him develop smooth inputs and consistent race pace on short tracks and intermediate ovals. His progression through the NASCAR Drive for Diversity Youth Driver Development Program and his willingness to test with multiple teams have shown adaptability across different cars and crew chief setups. As he continues to gain seat time in heavier stock cars, those early fundamentals remain a key part of his driving identity.
Notable Races and Milestones
Among Lothian’s signature moments are his 2017 F1 Boston Series and New Hampshire Karting Association championships, his 2019 selection to the NASCAR Drive for Diversity Youth Driver Development Program, his 2022 Truck Series debut at Martinsville Speedway, and his first ARCA Menards Series West victory lane contention at Kern County. His return to the Truck Series with Reaume Brothers Racing at New Hampshire in 2025 marked another milestone in his national series journey.
