Brad Perez Bio
Bradley Adam “Brad” Perez (born January 21, 1997) is an American professional stock car racing driver and pit crew member. A native of Hollywood, Florida, he has competed part-time across several NASCAR and ARCA national series while also working as a tire specialist and developmental driver. Perez is best known for his part-time efforts in the NASCAR Xfinity Series with Alpha Prime Racing and SS-Green Light Racing, as well as his appearances in the ARCA Menards Series with Fast Track Racing.
Early Life and Background
Bradley Adam Perez was born on January 21, 1997, in Hollywood, Florida. He grew up in the South Florida motorsports scene, where the Homestead-Miami Speedway complex and surrounding karting facilities offered an early proving ground for aspiring drivers. That environment shaped his early interest in stock car racing and gave him a clear path toward pursuing the sport competitively.
Perez graduated from Monsignor Edward Pace High School in Miami Gardens, Florida, in 2015, the same year he first climbed into a race vehicle. He continued his education at Broward College, finishing in the class of 2017, all while continuing to develop his racing craft on weekends. The combination of school and sport gave him a structured environment to balance academics with the demands of grassroots competition.
Path to NASCAR
Perez began his racing career in 2015 at age 18, competing in go-karts at the AMR Motorplex, located just outside Homestead-Miami Speedway, while driving for RYSA Racing. In 2017, he advanced to the Sports Car Club of America (SCCA) ranks in the Spec Miata category, fielding his own team called Brad Perez Racing. By 2019, he committed to the SCCA Hoosier Super Tour full-time, sharpening his road-course skills in Spec Miata competition.
While building his own program, Perez also paid his dues on the pit side of NASCAR. From 2019 to 2021, he worked as a tire specialist for multiple teams, including JD Motorsports in 2019, Martins Motorsports in 2020, and Rackley W.A.R. in 2021. He also stepped into Legends cars at Citrus County Speedway and Auburndale Speedway with Little Gator Motorsports in 2018, and ran selected events with Josh Williams Motorsports from 2020 to 2022, gaining experience that helped him transition to national-level stock car competition.
Brad Perez Career
Early Career (2015-2020)
Perez’s earliest competitive results came in karts and Spec Miata. After his 2015 karting debut at AMR Motorplex, he moved into the SCCA Spec Miata ranks in 2017, running under his own Brad Perez Racing banner. He added a 2018 Legends car schedule at two Florida short tracks, building seat time on ovals, and returned to the Hoosier Super Tour in 2020, when he also entered the ChampCar 14 Hours of Daytona event.
Through these developmental seasons, Perez built a reputation as a disciplined and adaptable driver willing to work on his own cars. His role as a tire specialist with several NASCAR teams during the same period gave him an inside view of race-day operations, which later proved valuable when he stepped into higher-profile rides.
ARCA Menards Series Breakthrough (2021-2022)
Perez made his ARCA Menards Series debut in the 2021 Clean Harbors 100 at The Glen, driving for Josh Williams’s team. He started the race and finished 24th after running inside the top ten for much of the event, providing a strong first impression in stock car competition. The following year, he planned a more ambitious ARCA schedule with Willie Mullins, completing pre-season testing at Daytona while pursuing sponsorship for a fuller campaign.
He returned to the ARCA Menards Series with Fast Track Racing, where he would record his first top-ten in the series. His consistent road-course pace, combined with his growing comfort on ovals, marked him as a versatile up-and-coming driver on the ARCA ladder.
Craftsman Truck Series (2022-2023)
On March 21, 2022, Perez announced his NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series debut at Circuit of the Americas with Reaume Brothers Racing. He started 32nd and finished 20th, a clean debut on a demanding road course. He returned to the team later that season at Sonoma Raceway, securing sponsorship from the band I Set My Friends on Fire.
In 2023, Perez made his first NASCAR start on an oval, returning to the Truck Series with Young’s Motorsports at Martinsville Speedway on April 10. The Martinsville appearance was an important milestone, signaling that his career was expanding beyond road-course events into the traditional short-track style that defines much of NASCAR’s identity.
Xfinity Series Breakthrough (2022-2024)
Perez first attempted his NASCAR Xfinity Series debut in 2022 at Indianapolis Motor Speedway with MBM Motorsports but failed to qualify. He made the field in his second attempt that season at Watkins Glen, driving the No. 35 for Emerling-Gase Motorsports, qualifying 27th and finishing 20th, earning his first career top-twenty in his first series start.
In 2023, he returned to Emerling-Gase Motorsports on a limited schedule and added a substitute appearance with Alpha Prime Racing at Sonoma, where he took over the No. 43 mid-race after Leland Honeyman fell ill and finished 28th despite a late-race incident. Perez later joined Alpha Prime Racing at Road America in the No. 44, finishing 19th inside the top twenty, and closed the year with an attempt in the No. 74 for CHK Racing at Phoenix, where he failed to qualify.
On January 8, 2024, Perez announced on SiriusXM NASCAR Radio that he would return to Alpha Prime Racing for the 2024 season, driving the No. 45 at Circuit of the Americas while also serving as a developmental and reserve driver. On May 22, 2024, it was announced he would drive the No. 14 for SS-Green Light Racing at Sonoma Raceway, further expanding his Xfinity Series footprint.
Alpha Prime Racing and SS-Green Light Racing Era (2022-Present)
Perez’s relationship with Alpha Prime Racing has grown from an emergency substitute to a defined multi-race program, including his 2024 No. 45 role at Circuit of the Americas and his earlier starts for the team at Sonoma and Road America. He has also continued to align with SS-Green Light Racing, most recently driving the No. 07 for the team. These opportunities have given him consistent seat time in the Xfinity Series while he continues to build a long-term national-level career.
He has balanced his driving duties with continued pit-crew and developmental responsibilities, a dual role that reflects his deep understanding of race-day operations. That combination has made him a respected team asset as well as an emerging driver.
Driving Style and Strengths
Perez has built much of his resume on road courses, where his Spec Miata and SCCA background gives him a strong technical baseline. He is regarded as a calm, detail-oriented wheelman, and his experience as a tire specialist helps him communicate effectively with crew members on strategy and tire management during longer runs.
Notable Races and Milestones
His 20th-place debut finish at Watkins Glen in 2022 stands as his first career top-twenty in the Xfinity Series. The 2024 Circuit of the Americas race in the Alpha Prime Racing No. 45 and his Sonoma start with SS-Green Light Racing mark his continued growth within the series, while his Truck Series debut at COTA in 2022 remains a career-defining breakthrough on a national stage.
