Stephen Mallozzi Bio
Stephen John Mallozzi (born January 15, 2001) is an American professional stock car racing driver. He has competed part-time in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series, driving the Nos. 2/22 Ford F-150 for Reaume Brothers Racing, and has also raced in late model events and the NASCAR Xfinity Series. Based in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Mallozzi is known for pursuing a national NASCAR career largely through self-funding, sponsorships, and crowdfunding efforts.
Early Life and Background
Mallozzi was born in Swedesboro, New Jersey, to parents Stephen Anthony Mallozzi and Melissa Marie Miller. He became a fan of auto racing at the age of three while watching races on television. His interest deepened after playing NASCAR Thunder 2004, Mario Kart, and other racing video games, and by the age of nine he had visited a local go-kart track and entered his first event.
By eleven, Mallozzi was racing go-karts on a frequent schedule. He later attended Salesianum High School, a Catholic private school in Wilmington, Delaware, graduating in 2019. He also went on to attend the University of Virginia, where he majored in economics, and later enrolled at the Temple University Beasley School of Law.
Path to NASCAR
During his karting years, Mallozzi won multiple Northeast Karting Challenge championships, which earned him a chance to compete overseas in Portugal representing the United States. His go-karting career lasted roughly five years before he stepped away from racing after his father was diagnosed with terminal lung cancer in 2016.
After stepping back, Mallozzi pursued journalism and broadcasting while in college, working as a sports commentator. In 2021, an exchange with his father, who had lived several years beyond his original prognosis, pushed him to return to racing. He joined Reaume Brothers Racing as a development driver and began racing late models across the Carolinas.
Stephen Mallozzi Career
Early Career (2021–2022)
In July 2021, Mallozzi and crew member Jonathan Cuevas were announced as the first participants in a new Reaume Brothers Racing driver development program. During this period, he built a close relationship with team owner Josh Reaume, secured an internship with the team, and started running late model races across the Carolinas.
In 2022, Reaume gave Mallozzi a one-off Truck Series opportunity at the O’Reilly Auto Parts 150 at Mid-Ohio, driving the team’s No. 43 entry. To make the race, he crowdfunded expenses through a Facebook group, sought returning sponsors, and recruited personal friends to serve as spotters. He qualified and finished 22nd.
NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series Breakthrough (2023–2025)
Mallozzi expanded his Truck Series schedule in 2023. His season began at Martinsville with AM Racing, after he was moved off the initial Reaume Brothers Racing entry due to a lack of owner’s points, and he later added races at Gateway and Pocono. Mechanical issues, including a battery failure at Gateway, limited his finishes, but he secured a one-race sponsorship deal with Outback Steakhouse for the 2023 UNOH 200 at Bristol.
He continued making starts in 2024, racing at Martinsville and Pocono for Reaume Brothers Racing. In 2025, he maintained a part-time role with the team, running start-and-park entries. Speaking to The Philadelphia Inquirer, he described the start-and-park arrangement as the biggest challenge of balancing competitiveness with professional obligations.
NASCAR Xfinity Series (2024)
Mallozzi made his NASCAR Xfinity Series debut in 2024 at Pocono, finishing 35th in the event. The start added a second national NASCAR series to his resume alongside his Truck Series work with Reaume Brothers Racing.
Reaume Brothers Racing Era (2021–Present)
Mallozzi has been part of Reaume Brothers Racing since joining the team’s development program in 2021. Over the following seasons, he drove the team’s entries at Mid-Ohio, Martinsville, Gateway, Pocono, and other tracks, gradually expanding from a single start to a part-time Truck Series schedule. He has also represented the team in the NASCAR Xfinity Series and in late model competition.
Driving Style and Strengths
Mallozzi has competed at a variety of track types, including road courses like Watkins Glen, intermediate ovals, and short tracks such as Martinsville. His career has been built on resourcefulness, including crowdfunding race entries, securing small sponsorships, and working part-time as a server to help fund his program. His approach emphasizes perseverance and maximizing limited track time.
Notable Races and Milestones
His 2022 Mid-Ohio debut marked his first Truck Series start, while his Pocono Xfinity Series appearance in 2024 represented his first national series start outside the Truck Series. The 2023 UNOH 200 at Bristol carried personal significance as his first sponsored Truck Series race with Outback Steakhouse.

2025 Season Performance
Mallozzi continued his partnership with Reaume Brothers Racing in 2025, running a part-time Truck Series schedule. His entries primarily focused on start-and-park efforts as he balanced racing with his ongoing law studies at Temple University.
The season was defined more by perseverance than by results, with mechanical and financial limitations shaping the campaign. He finished the year ranked 54th in the Truck Series standings, matching his career-best seasonal position.
Looking ahead, Mallozzi has publicly expressed interest in exploring opportunities with Ram Trucks’ new NASCAR Truck Series program through its Free Agent Program. While the opportunity was described as slim, it represented a potential new chapter for his underdog racing story.
