Team AmeriVet Overview

Team AmeriVet, formerly known as Money Team Racing or TMT, is an American professional stock car racing team that competes part-time in the NASCAR Cup Series. Based in Mooresville, North Carolina, the team fields the No. 50 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 and is owned by William Auchmoody, Rebecca Auchmoody, and Casey Caudill. The organization was founded in 2022 and is supported by AmeriVet Securities as its primary sponsor. Although still a young operation without a Cup Series victory or a drivers’ championship, Team AmeriVet continues to expand its footprint in top-level NASCAR competition.

The team first surfaced publicly in late 2019 as a planned NASCAR project connected to boxer Floyd Mayweather Jr., under the banner of The Money Team. After years of preparation and several false starts, the organization finally took to the track at the 2022 Daytona 500. A 2024 ownership transition and rebranding brought the team its current identity as Team AmeriVet, signaling a renewed commitment to growth in the Cup Series.

Founding and Organizational Origins

Plans for what would eventually become Team AmeriVet first appeared in October 2019, when motorsport journalist Adam Stern reported that a new NASCAR team owned by Floyd Mayweather Jr. could debut at the 2019 Ford EcoBoost 400 at Homestead–Miami Speedway, with ambitions to run a full-time schedule in 2020. Those initial plans did not materialize, and the organization did not enter any races during the 2019 or 2020 seasons. Despite the quiet start, the project continued to gather supporters and financial backers behind the scenes.

By late 2020, the team entered discussions with Spire Motorsports about a partnership for the 2021 NASCAR Cup Series, with the goal of running a full-time entry by 2022. The proposed deal ultimately did not come together, and the organization moved in a different direction. Former StarCom Racing principals William Woelehmann and brothers Matthew and Michael Kohler later joined the project as investors, helping stabilize the team and prepare for its eventual competitive debut.

Growth Into NASCAR Cup Series Competition

The team’s path to Cup Series competition included a brief digital racing effort in 2020, when Jeffrey Earnhardt attempted to qualify for an eNASCAR iRacing Pro Invitational Series event but failed to make the field. After regrouping, the team confirmed on February 1, 2022, that it would attempt the Daytona 500 with Kaz Grala behind the wheel of the No. 50 car, supported by sponsors Pit Viper Sunglasses and Momento NFT. Grala locked into the race through the Duels and gave the team its first official Cup Series start.

Following that debut, the team operated on a part-time basis while continuing to refine its operations and search for sustainable ownership. That search concluded in May 2024, when William Auchmoody and Rebecca Auchmoody assumed control and rebranded the organization as Team AmeriVet. In May 2025, Prime Gate Holdings founder Casey Caudill was added to the ownership group, further strengthening the team’s leadership heading into the next phase of its development.

Team AmeriVet Competitive Journey

Across its brief history, Team AmeriVet has prioritized learning the demands of Cup Series racing while carefully selecting events rather than committing to a full-season schedule. The team’s competitive story has been built around select high-profile races, including the Daytona 500, the Coca-Cola 600, the Charlotte Roval, and the Cook Out 400 at Martinsville. Each appearance has helped the organization gain valuable data, on-track experience, and visibility within the NASCAR garage.

Early Seasons and Development (2022–2023)

The 2022 season marked the team’s official Cup Series debut. Kaz Grala opened the year with a 26th-place finish at the Daytona 500, a challenging run complicated by a lost right rear wheel on lap 40, which led to a four-race suspension for crew chief Tony Eury Jr. Grala followed that with a 25th-place result at Circuit of the Americas and a 23rd-place finish in the Coca-Cola 600. Later in the year, Conor Daly made his Cup Series debut with the team at the Charlotte Roval, carrying sponsorship from BitNile.

In 2023, Daly returned to drive the No. 50 at the Daytona 500, qualifying through Duel 2 of the Bluegreen Vacations Duels despite handling concerns. He went on to finish 29th out of 40 cars in the main event, completing 206 of the scheduled 212 laps. Those early efforts gave the team a foundation of Cup Series experience, even as it continued to operate on a limited schedule.

Breakthrough in the Cup Series (2024–2025)

The team’s modern era began in May 2024 with the official rebrand to Team AmeriVet under its new ownership. Ty Dillon was announced as the driver for the Coca-Cola 600, with AmeriVet Securities coming on board as primary sponsor. Dillon went on to record a 36th-place finish at Charlotte, marking the team’s first race under the new banner. Jeb Burton then drove the No. 50 at the Phoenix season finale, where he finished 38th.

In 2025, the team continued its part-time Cup Series approach. On January 17, the organization announced that Burt Myers would pilot the No. 50 in the Clash at Bowman Gray Stadium, and on March 8, it confirmed Myers would also drive at the Martinsville spring race, the Cook Out 400. Through nine career races, the team has recorded zero victories, zero pole positions, and zero drivers’ championships, but its on-track activity has steadily increased under the AmeriVet name.

Modern Program and Current Direction (2024–Present)

Under the current ownership group, Team AmeriVet has focused on building stability through targeted race entries rather than attempting a full-season effort. The partnership with AmeriVet Securities provides a consistent primary sponsor, while the team’s Chevrolet manufacturer relationship ensures competitive technical support. Its Mooresville, North Carolina base places the team in the heart of NASCAR’s operational community, offering access to skilled crew members and established supplier networks.

The current on-track lineup has featured a rotation of experienced drivers, including Ty Dillon, Jeb Burton, and Burt Myers. This approach allows the team to evaluate talent while gradually building its competitive infrastructure. Long-term, Team AmeriVet has signaled an interest in expanding its Cup Series presence and developing the operational depth needed to compete more consistently at the front of the field.

Philosophy and Competitive Strengths

Team AmeriVet’s competitive identity centers on disciplined preparation and selective scheduling. By focusing on marquee events such as the Daytona 500 and the Coca-Cola 600, the team maximizes its visibility while carefully managing resources. Its Chevrolet partnership and Mooresville-based operations reflect a commitment to long-term technical growth rather than short-term results.

Key Milestones and Major Moments

The team’s most significant milestone came on February 1, 2022, when it officially confirmed its Cup Series debut at the Daytona 500 with Kaz Grala. The May 2024 rebranding to Team AmeriVet, the addition of AmeriVet Securities as primary sponsor, and the May 2025 expansion of its ownership group to include Casey Caudill each represent important steps in the organization’s evolution.

Team AmeriVet Achievements and Results

Team AmeriVet is a young organization, and its record in the NASCAR Cup Series is still being written. Across nine career races, the team has yet to record a victory, a pole position, or a drivers’ championship. Despite those results, the organization has accumulated meaningful Cup Series experience and built a foundation for future growth.

Cup Series Achievements

The team’s primary Cup Series achievement is simply taking the green flag in NASCAR’s top national series. Its 2022 Daytona 500 debut with Kaz Grala remains a defining moment, marking the first time the organization officially competed at the highest level of stock car racing. Additional appearances at Circuit of the Americas, the Coca-Cola 600, the Charlotte Roval, the 2023 Daytona 500, the 2024 Coca-Cola 600, the 2024 Phoenix finale, and the 2025 Clash at Bowman Gray Stadium have expanded the team’s competitive résumé.
