Tom Gamble Joins Paddock Motorsport: As the thrilling Intelligent Money British GT Championship season approaches, Paddock Motorsport will show off a new set of drivers in its McLaren Artura GT4. Tom Gamble, a senior McLaren factory driver, has joined the team as they prepare for the high-speed race at Donington on October 21 and 22.
The finishing two-hour show of the season will feature 21-year-old racing star Gamble driving the #7 Artura GT4 with Kavi Jundu. The crew will manage this Pro-Am participation and contribute expertise. This thrilling team will compete with Mark Smith and Martin Plowman’s rigid 720S GT3 Evo.
Gamble is a famous race car driver who won the Ginetta Junior championship in 2017 and the ELMS LMP3 title in 2020. Gamble became one of the few top McLaren factory GT drivers this year. He was a big reason why Optimum Motorsport won the Gold class at the CrowdStrike 24 Hours of Spa, driving the McLaren 720S GT3 Evo to victory.
It was just a short appearance when Gamble drove a Century Motorsport BMW at Snetterton in 2019. He is no stranger to the British GT scene. Gamble said, “I’m really excited to join Paddock Motorsport for the final British GT round,” showing how excited he was for the task that was coming up. The Artura GT4 differs from the LMP2s I’ve been used to this year, but it has much in common with the current GT3 model. One of my strengths has always been adapting to different cars. Both the McLaren GT4 and GT3 are exciting to drive.
Because Donington is his home track and a personal favourite, Gamble has a unique love for it. He has a lot of hope as he works to give Paddock Motorsport and the Artura GT4 a good finish on this famous track. He said with trust, “I’m really looking forward to going back there and seeing if we can finish the season with a strong result for Paddock and the Artura GT4.”
With Gamble’s help, Paddock Motorsport hopes to build on the setup and performance benefits they have carefully achieved in the Artura GT4. It will be at the Intelligent Money British GT Championship Donington Decider, which will happen over the busy weekend of October 21–22, that the team will truly shine.
