Trackhouse Racing is a newer yet rapidly rising team in the NASCAR Cup Series, founded in 2020 by former NASCAR driver Justin Marks and entrepreneur Ty Norris. Based in Concord, North Carolina, the team marks a fresh and innovative approach to NASCAR. Trackhouse Racing acquired Chip Ganassi Racing’s NASCAR operations in 2021, significantly expanding its capabilities and competitive reach. HISTORY
From its inception in 2020, Trackhouse Racing set ambitious goals, aiming to make a significant impact in NASCAR. The team debuted in the 2021 NASCAR Cup Series season, with Daniel Suárez driving the No. 99 Chevrolet. Suárez, a Monterrey, Mexico native, became a symbol of the team’s commitment to diversity and competitive spirit. The early races were challenging, but consistent improvements showed the team’s potential and dedication to success in NASCAR’s premier series.
With the addition of Ross Chastain as a second full-time driver for the 2022 season, Trackhouse Racing began to achieve notable successes on the track, including multiple race wins. This rapid rise underscored the team’s commitment to excellence and innovation, as well as its ability to compete at the highest levels of NASCAR.
On September 16, Trackhouse Racing secured a multi-year agreement with Zane Smith, the 2022 champion of the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series.
On January 11, 2024, Trackhouse Racing announced the signing of Connor Zilisch to a multi-year contract. As part of this deal, Zilisch will participate in several racing series which also includes NASCAR XFINITY series and NASCAR CRAFTSMAN TRUCK series.
