This year’s meeting was full of fun and friendship. Over a dozen brave people raced across space and time with Tony Stewart as he drove the car at speeds that were almost like racing. Many people watched, but brave individuals also took control of their lives during fast runs and decorated the track with their presence. Others found it exciting to ride along and do “hot laps” with the winners of the fall races at Texas Motor Speedway in 2006 and 2011.
This speed and kindness were made possible by passion and careful planning. David Starr, a NASCAR driver and leader in Houston who started Team Texas High-Performance Driving School, was in charge of the dance of races. Speedway Children’s Charities-Texas Chapter gave out 22 gifts worth a total of $366,000 in late 2022. These funds allowed thirty-nine thousand one hundred eighteen students to study, grow, and dream.
Still, kindness keeps going. That nice group called Speedway Children’s Charities-Texas Chapter would be kind again in 2024. The NASCAR Autotrader EchoPark Automotive 400 tripleheader occurred at Texas Motor Speedway from April 1214. It was a show of speed and skill. Giving and running would go well together.
