Jonathan Shafer NASCAR Return: Speeding Back to the Truck Series Spotlight!

Jonathan Shafer NASCAR Return: Young driver Jonathan Shafer is set to return to the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series this Saturday, taking the wheel of the On Point Motorsports No. 30 Toyota Tundra at the Homestead-Miami Speedway for the Baptist Health Cancer Care 200, a 201-mile race slated for noon and broadcasted on FS1.

Shafer, an 18-year-old resident of Ashland County, is not just back in the driver’s seat; he also brings along a familiar sponsor. Osgar’s Autobody, a Mansfield-based body shop, is stepping up as the primary sponsor for the No. 30 Toyota Tundra. Previously, Osgar’s Autobody had collaborated with Shafer as an associate sponsor, and their continued support is invaluable for the young racer.

Expressing his gratitude, Shafer acknowledged Mike and Jim Osgar for their unwavering support, emphasizing their unmatched craftsmanship, knowledge, and diligence in every vehicle they work on.

Additionally, Shafer recognized the support of his sponsors Craig Nolletti, owner of the Warehouse Gym in Ashland, and Slinger Print Works and Apparel in Yorktown, Virginia.

Shafer’s journey in racing began at the young age of 4, steadily climbing the ranks. He debuted his Craftsman Truck Series in mid-April, finishing 29th in the Long John Silver’s 200 at Martinsville Speedway. In late June, he secured a 24th-place finish in the Rackley Roofing 200 at the Nashville Superspeedway.

Eager and appreciative of the opportunity, Shafer expressed his happiness and gratitude for the chance to compete in his third NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series race with On Point Motorsports. He lauded the hard work of the crew members at On Point Motorsports, emphasizing their consistent effort in providing him with a competitive truck to drive.

The Craftsman Truck Series, one of NASCAR’s prestigious national touring series, has seen Shafer’s passion for racing drive him to this point. Despite declining a full-time professional sprint car ride with a successful World of Outlaw race team earlier in the year, Shafer followed his heart and pursued his passion in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series. Looking ahead, he aims for a full-time presence in the NASCAR truck series, aspiring to keep progressing in the sport he loves.
