Doug Duchardt Impactful Journey: Doug Duchardt joins Spire Motorsports from Chip Ganassi Racing, where he spent the past six years in various roles, initially as chief operating officer and later as executive consultant.

Before his time at Ganassi, Duchardt boasted a noteworthy 12-year stint at the pinnacled NASCAR organization, Hendrick Motorsports. His journey at Hendrick began as the vice president of development and culminated as the executive vice president and general manager, overseeing the entirety of competition operations.

Spire co-owner Jeff Dickerson expressed enthusiasm about Duchardt’s addition, emphasizing its significant impact on the team’s growth. “Doug Duchardt’s reputation precedes him,” Dickerson stated. “His expertise instantly elevates our competitive standards and work ethic, promising immediate dividends. His extensive ties with General Motors strengthen our relationships with Hendrick Motorsports and Trackhouse Racing.”

During his tenure at Chip Ganassi Racing, Duchardt notably spearheaded the collaboration between CGR and GM, establishing a European facility for Cadillac’s sportscar World Endurance Program. His involvement included prestigious races in Sebring, Portugal, Spa, Le Mans, Monza, Fuji, and Bahrain. Additionally, he served as the team strategist for CGR’s 2022 Indianapolis 500 effort, guiding Tony Kanaan to an impressive third-place finish.

Duchardt’s impressive career trajectory commenced in 1996 when he joined General Motors Racing. His responsibilities expanded over the years, overseeing diverse programs in NASCAR, Grand-Am, American Le Mans, NHRA, IndyCar, and more. His transition to Hendrick Motorsports in 2005 marked the beginning of an impactful era.

The palpable enthusiasm and energy within Spire’s facilities also excited Duchardt, who looks forward to collaborating with Chevrolet, Trackhouse Racing, and his former associates at Hendrick Motorsports in preparations for the upcoming 2024 season.

Assuming a pivotal role at Spire, Duchardt will oversee the organization’s holistic operations, spanning competition, personnel, and business operations.

Looking ahead to 2024, the team plans to expand, fielding two full-time Cup Series teams and multiple entries in the Truck Series.
