Rich Kramer Honored: Goodyear’s CEO Receives NASCAR’s Bill France Award

Rich Kramer Honored: During the 2023 NASCAR Cup Series Awards, Goodyear’s Chairman, CEO, and President, Rich Kramer, received the esteemed Bill France Award of Excellence, presented by NASCAR chairman Jim France. This recognition celebrates Kramer’s notable leadership and significant contributions to the sport in his capacity as Goodyear’s CEO.

One of Goodyear’s recent achievements was the development of the 18-inch Goodyear Racing Eagle tire, notably utilized on NASCAR’s Next Gen stock car. Additionally, Goodyear made strides in June by outfitting its tires with real-time tire intelligence for the NASCAR Next Gen Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 Garage 56 entry at the 24 Hours of Le Mans.

For Kramer, the near seven-decade alliance between Goodyear and NASCAR holds immense significance, underpinned by shared values of competition and innovation. This relationship proved pivotal as Goodyear supported NASCAR’s return to competition during the challenging times of COVID-19.

Expressing his humility at the awards ceremony, Kramer attributed the recognition to the dedicated team behind Goodyear’s efforts: “Anything I’m acknowledged for is due to them. Goodyear’s enduring partnership with NASCAR stems from our aligned values.”

The Bill France Award of Excellence, a rare distinction bestowed selectively since 1953, has been granted to Goodyear twice before, in 1965 and 1971.

NASCAR Chairman and CEO Jim France underscored Kramer’s significance, acknowledging Goodyear’s pivotal role during moments of adversity and evolution within the sport: “Rich and Goodyear have been invaluable partners and friends, aiding NASCAR’s return to the track amidst COVID-19, contributing to the design of the Next Gen race car, and collaborating to showcase NASCAR’s prowess at the 24 Hours of Le Mans. This prestigious award acknowledges Rich’s immense contributions to our sport.”
