Joey Logano reviews Netflix NASCAR Full Speed S2: “Way better than last year—fans, don’t miss this!”

Joey Logano, reigning NASCAR champion and celebrated Penske Racing driver, has shared his enthusiastic thoughts on Netflix’s highly anticipated Full Speed season 2, set for release on May 7, 2024. Having watched the upcoming season with his family during the off-season, Logano expressed excitement about both the quality and storytelling of the new episodes, highlighting how they offer fans an engaging, behind-the-scenes look at the 2024 NASCAR season. Speaking during a media session at the Texas Cup race, Logano was candid in stating,

It’s way better than last year, and I say that from a very selfish standpoint because I got to actually watch us win.

Last year’s season of Full Speed focused on the 2023 NASCAR season, giving fans a closer look at Logano’s title defense. That season proved challenging for Joey Logano, as he made the playoffs thanks to a fortunate win but was eliminated in the round of 16. Reflecting on the new season, he said,

The year before I watched us get knocked out in the first round, so it’s much better. They’re much better episodes (laughing). They did a good job of telling the story of the playoffs.

The improvement in both Logano’s personal journey and the docuseries itself has contributed to his positive review.

Netflix’s Full Speed has quickly become a hit among racing enthusiasts and new fans alike, credited with offering authentic insights into the sport as well as the lives of its top drivers. Joey Logano’s involvement in season 2, especially as a champion, gives fans an intimate look at the highs and lows of competitive racing, while also highlighting the intense drama of the playoff battles that define each NASCAR year. According to Logano, the producers’ attention to storytelling helps capture both the excitement of victory and the tension of competition, making this season a must-watch for any motorsports fan.

Providing further insight, Logano explained that the structure of Full Speed season 2 has been thoughtfully designed.

I thought what they did well is the first episode is very educational to the non-race fan, which is part of the goal of the doc to try to educate or create new NASCAR fans, and then it gets a little bit more into the nitty gritty of what the playoffs are and NASCAR is, so I think that’s good. It kind of starts a little elementary and then it gets into the deeper levels, so they did a good job of that,

he said. This approach, starting from the basics and building towards in-depth coverage, reflects Netflix’s strategy to expand the sport’s fan base while keeping longtime followers engaged.

The buzz around Joey Logano reviewing Netflix NASCAR Full Speed season 2 has energized the racing community, increasing anticipation for its official release. By sharing his delight at the series’ progression, Logano not only strengthens his connection with fans but also reinforces the importance of storytelling in modern sports media. As fans prepare to tune in, many hope that Full Speed season 2 will inspire a new generation to follow NASCAR more closely, amplify unity among current supporters, and highlight the thrilling nature of the sport. Given Logano’s praise and the positive energy surrounding the new season, both die-hard and casual viewers have compelling reasons to watch and share in the excitement when the series debuts.
