Daniel Suarez criticizes Trackhouse Racing after Kansas DNF, blasts team for “horrible” car

Daniel Suarez offered pointed criticism toward Trackhouse Racing on Sunday, May 11, after failing to finish the AdventHealth 400 at Kansas Speedway. In a tense post-race interview, Suarez did not hold back his frustration, blaming the team‘s poor car setup for what he described as a “horrible” race day and his third DNF of the season.

Despite an impressive qualifying session that saw Daniel Suarez secure a P8 starting position with a strong lap of 29.59 seconds and a top speed of 182.48 mph, things quickly unraveled. From the start, he struggled with the car’s handling, slipping back to P23 by the end of Stage 1. The situation worsened in Stage 2 as he dropped three additional spots, a sign that issues with car stability were not improving.

With 70 laps remaining, chaos erupted when Ty Dillon of Kaulig Racing clipped Cody Ware, spinning out the #51 car and triggering the race‘s fifth caution. In the aftermath, Daniel Suarez was collected in the accident, sending his Trackhouse Racing car spinning and forcing an early end to his day.

Reflecting on the incident and the persistent instability of his vehicle, Daniel Suarez voiced his dissatisfaction, stating that the car was impossible to manage and directly attributing his troubles to team performance.

“We need to step up our game, just like other big organizations—Hendrick Motorsports, for example,”

Suarez said, according to Motorsports.com. This public critique comes as Trackhouse Racing, despite an initially promising start in the NextGen era, has struggled to deliver strong results this season.

Currently, Daniel Suarez occupies the 27th spot in the NASCAR Cup Series points standings, with 209 points, three top-10 finishes, and one top-five this year. The ongoing setbacks have fueled frustration, as expectations remain high for a turnaround. As the season progresses, the spotlight intensifies on Trackhouse Racing and Daniel Suarez, making their ability to recover and adapt in coming races a critical storyline to watch for fans and observers alike.
