Kyle Busch Dominates Summer Shootout at Charlotte as Father-Son Duo Clinches Third Win Each

Kyle Busch dominates Summer Shootout Charlotte, making a significant mark at the latest event at Charlotte Motor Speedway as both he and his son Brexton Busch claimed their third victories in the 2025 Cook Out Summer Shootout season. Taking place in Concord, N.C., the event showcased the skill and determination of racing’s standout families, while Cash Lecroy added to the excitement by extending his win streak in the Chargers division.

Busch Family Steals the Show on NASCAR Night

As NASCAR Night unfolded at Charlotte Motor Speedway, Brexton Busch, son of Kyle Busch, put on a commanding display in the Bandolero Bandits category. Initially scheduled to begin on the outside of row two, Brexton capitalized on an early opportunity following a penalty to James Behnke. By the opening lap, Brexton had secured the P1 position and charged ahead, never relinquishing his lead for the remainder of the race. He finished over two seconds ahead of the competition, securing his third victory of the summer and underscoring the family’s motorsport legacy.

While Brexton surged ahead, an intense contest brewed for second place. Gerald White III, Maverick Bradshaw, Teagan Knowland, and James Behnke kept fans on the edge of their seats, with Knowland making a strong move through the field to seize second by Lap 11. Behnke, however, reclaimed the spot with a savvy inside maneuver in Turn 4. Ultimately, the finishing order saw Brexton clinching first, Behnke holding on for second, Knowland in third, White III fourth, and Bradshaw rounding out the top five.

Kyle Busch Takes Command in the Masters Race

Kyle Busch’s performance in the American Rebel Ale Masters Division only solidified his Hall of Fame credentials. From the moment the race began, Kyle asserted control at the front, outpacing rivals from the green flag through to the checkered. Despite a caution-heavy contest that removed half of the field from contention due to incidents, Kyle expertly navigated every challenge and repeatedly stretched his lead past one second with each restart.

Finishing behind him, Shawn Parked claimed second, with Jesse Bunnell, Lee Jordan, and Brandin Wrisley making up the rest of the top five in this division. The win added yet another chapter to Kyle Busch’s legendary record at America’s Home for Racing, a venue where he has now collected a total of 19 victories across NASCAR’s major leagues.

Cash Lecroy’s Winning Streak Earns Promotion

Cash Lecroy continued his remarkable run in the Chargers division by leaping from a second-place start to ultimately seize the win in Round 4, marking his third consecutive victory. This string of successes earned him a move up to the VP Fuels Semi-Pro rank for the next event. Polesitter Thomas Harris appeared strong, but by the first lap, Lecroy was setting up an inside line pass. A major twelve-car crash early in the race caused a caution, but both Harris and Lecroy managed to avoid the wreck and resumed their battle at the front.

Following the restart, close-quarters competition between Harris and Lecroy continued until Lap 7, when Harris faltered slightly in Turn 3, giving Lecroy the opportunity to overtake. Lecroy maintained his momentum, building a notable lead until another caution caused the contest to end under the yellow flag. Lecroy celebrated his third win in a row, Rhylee Hutchins finished second, and Brexton Busch added a third-place result as his success across divisions continues. Knox Bryant and Thomas Harris completed the top five in the Chargers.

The night also produced victories for Brody Zacharias in Beginner Bandos, Rylan Speight in Outlaws, Spencer Bradshaw in Young Lions, Sam Butler in VP Fuels Semi-Pro, and Jensen Jorgensen for Dilling, Heating, Cooling, Plumbing & Electrical Pros, as several divisions witnessed outstanding performances on the quarter-mile circuit.

Doubleheader and Fourth of July Celebration on the Horizon

On Monday, June 30, fans can experience a blend of high-speed laps and interactive activities, with rewards including prizes for attendees like a special gift for the 100th fan entering the gates during the Night of Games presented by Bojangles.

The excitement carries over into Tuesday with the Red, White & Vrooms event presented by PRO-FABrication Headers & Exhaust.
