Kyle Larson Announces PA Speedweek Return: Full Schedule, Key Tracks Revealed After 2-Year Hiatus

Kyle Larson, one of the top competitors in Pennsylvania Speedweek history, is making his highly anticipated comeback to the summer miniseries after being absent since 2022. The Kyle Larson PA Speedweek return schedule includes four major events across the region, beginning next week as he aims to add to his career achievements on Central PA’s famed dirt tracks.

Larson Confirms Four-Race PA Speedweek Lineup After Two Years Away

After a two-year break, Larson will compete in four consecutive Speedweek races starting Monday at Lincoln Speedway. He will then race at Grandview Speedway, Port Royal Speedway, and Hagerstown Speedway in Maryland on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, respectively. This marks Larson’s first return since his runner-up performance at Hagerstown in 2022, where he posted two second-place finishes during a four-race swing.

The 32-year-old racer has established himself as a dominant figure in PA Speedweek, claiming 10 career wins in the series, which ranks him seventh on the all-time list. He is currently just one victory away from tying Pennsylvanian favorites Stevie Smith Jr. and Brent Marks for fifth all-time, highlighting his status among the event’s elite.

Significance of Larson’s PA Speedweek Performance and Past Achievements

Larson’s impact on PA Speedweek is particularly notable from his 2020 campaign, during which he achieved four of his 10 career wins and secured the series title with a record-breaking 323-point margin, the largest in the event’s history as it now approaches its 35th season, currently sponsored by Red Robin Gourmet Burgers and Brews.

During his return, Larson will compete at two tracks where he has enjoyed considerable success. Grandview Speedway, a dirt oval reminiscent of the bullring tracks in the Midwest and West Coast, has seen Larson take the checkered flag four times during Speedweek. At Port Royal Speedway—a half-mile venue he has come to favor—Larson has recorded seven victories and 10 podium finishes in his last 14 Sprint Car starts, along with a win in the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series during just his second Late Model appearance.

Larson’s Current Racing Success and Hectic Schedule

This year, Larson has competed in 19 Sprint Car races, winning five times—including four victories in just nine World of Outlaws events—and landing on the podium 12 times. Overall, he has secured 15 victories in seven different racing disciplines this season, including five with 410 Sprints, three in the NASCAR Cup Series, two in the Midget car class (highlighted by a Chili Bowl Nationals win), two in the NASCAR Xfinity Series, one in NASCAR Trucks, and one each in the Winged Outlaw and Winged A-Class at the Tulsa Shootout.

Amidst a tight schedule, Larson considered adding Sunday’s PA Speedweek race at BAPS Motor Speedway. However, with NASCAR Cup duties at Atlanta Motor Speedway on Saturday, Larson indicated he might need a rest day before the series and reflected on his busy travel commitments.

“We don’t get to race, really, in front of, like, the JVI Group, (a Central PA-based construction company that sponsors Larson), that much anymore, so it’s important to get to Speedweek this year and get to have them come to the races and be part of the team and hangout, and all that. So, yeah, we’re all looking forward to getting there.”

What Larson’s Return Means for PA Speedweek and the Racing Community

Larson’s inclusion in the PA Speedweek lineup brings added excitement to an already competitive field, painting him as one of the clear favorites alongside fellow racers like Bell, Macri, and strong Pennsylvania talents. With his return to Grandview and Port Royal Speedways, fans anticipate high-level competition and the potential for Larson to climb higher on the list of all-time winners. His busy multi-series schedule, combined with his proven track record on Central Pennsylvania’s iconic dirt ovals, is set to energize fans and intensify the battle for Speedweek supremacy as the event enters another historic year.
