Cup Series: Full Field Set for Return to the Oval
The Brickyard 400 returns to the iconic oval at Indianapolis Motor Speedway for the second consecutive year. A total of 39 teams are entered, meaning no drivers will be sent home after qualifying. The race airs Sunday at 2 p.m. ET on TNT.
Among the notable entries:
Jesse Love will drive the No. 62 for Beard Motorsports.
Josh Bilicki will race the No. 66 for Garage 66.
Katherine Legge returns to Cup in the No. 78 for Live Fast Motorsports and will also compete in Xfinity.
While the playoff field is beginning to tighten, several drivers will be looking at Indy as a key turning point, particularly those outside the top 16. With no road course layout this year, traditional oval setups and pit strategy will take center stage.
Xfinity Series: Larson and Legge Highlight Deep Entry List
The Xfinity Series field is 38 cars strong for the Pennzoil 250, scheduled for Saturday afternoon at 4:30 p.m. ET on The CW. Everyone entered will race, barring any last-minute changes. The list features a blend of full-time regulars, returning part-timers, and Cup crossover talent.
Kyle Larson returns to the Xfinity Series in the No. 17 Chevrolet for Hendrick Motorsports, a car that’s been dominant in select starts. He’ll be a major threat for the win.
Katherine Legge will run double duty this weekend, piloting the No. 32 for Jordan Anderson Racing. Other entries include:
Logan Bearden in the No. 07 for SS-Green Light Racing
Mason Massey back in the No. 45 for Alpha Prime Racing
Dawson Cram in the No. 74 for Mike Harmon Racing
Joey Gase driving his own No. 53; his team’s No. 35 remains TBD
Our Motorsports’ No. 5 is officially withdrawn following the team’s shutdown after Dover
This field offers a wide performance gap, but with heavyweights like Larson in the mix, Saturday’s race could quickly become a high-speed chess match.
Truck Series: Short Track Chaos at IRP
The Craftsman Truck Series gets its moment under the lights Friday night at Lucas Oil Indianapolis Raceway Park. The TSport 200 begins at 8 p.m. ET and will air on FS1. A total of 35 trucks are entered — again, no drivers will be bumped from the lineup.
Ross Chastain leads the list of Cup drivers making a drop-in appearance. He’ll pilot the No. 44 for Niece Motorsports. Other entries include:
Corey Day in the No. 7 for Spire Motorsports
Brenden Queen in the No. 07 for Spire
Jordan Anderson back in the No. 20 for his first Truck start since 2022
Greg Van Alst debuts his own No. 35 truck
Jayson Alexander in the No. 02 for Young’s Motorsports
Luke Fenhaus driving ThorSport’s No. 66
Norm Benning fields his familiar No. 6
The MHR No. 74 is entered but lacks a confirmed driver as of Friday
This race often produces drama, with tight racing and restarts being crucial to survival. IRP’s layout rewards short-track veterans and punishes driver mistakes — expect tempers and fireworks before the night is over.
