Chase Briscoe Shares Surprising Playoffs Mindset Ahead of Gateway Race

Chase Briscoe has offered an unexpected perspective on his approach as the Playoffs season unfolds, making a notable Chase Briscoe Playoffs mindset update before the upcoming race at World Wide Technology Raceway. Despite the high stakes and attention surrounding the Playoffs, Briscoe reveals that he’s treating this round like any other, maintaining a steady focus at the race track with his crew.

Consistent Focus Despite Playoff Pressure

Although many drivers might be intensifying their strategies as the Playoffs advance, Briscoe shares that his own routine has remained unchanged. According to Briscoe, even after a recent win and the lead-up to this week’s competition, nothing has shifted in his mindset—it feels like any ordinary race week. He admits he has not even discussed Playoffs strategy with his crew chief, James Small. This outlook suggests that, rather than letting Playoff expectations dominate, Briscoe is keeping preparation and performance as his main priorities, seeking another victory rather than stressing over points or standings.

Briscoe’s Natural Curiosity as a Fan

Despite his focus on maintaining normalcy with his team, Chase Briscoe’s passion for the sport shines through in his interest in overall Playoff developments. When asked about his knowledge of what’s happening with the Playoff race, Briscoe responded:

“Yeah, I love knowing. Just the fan in me. I like to know what is going on and what guys are racing for. I just like knowing what is going on. So yeah, I’ll ask James (Small, crew chief) all of the time. We’ve not really been in that situation yet, but I think Jeff was asking me the other week, I can just ask him a random question and James is tense all of the time, he’ll jump me. (laughter) I’m sure at some point it is coming over the course of the next nine weeks – him telling me I need to stop worrying about everyone else, but I just love knowing. So yeah, I’ll definitely be asking for sure, and I’ll be checking out the big screen under caution to kind of know what is going on.”
