UNOH 250 Full Results: Layne Riggs Shines in Wild Bristol Truck Playoff Race

Layne Riggs turned a rough start into a commanding finish on Thursday night, conquering Bristol Motor Speedway in the UNOH 250 Presented by Ohio Logistics. The Front Row Motorsports driver spun on the opening lap but recovered to lead 110 of 250 laps and secure his third NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series victory of 2025. Riggs’ triumph, his second career win at Bristol, locks him into the Round of 8 and halts Corey Heim’s three-race winning streak in dramatic fashion.

Key Highlights

  • Layne Riggs led 110 laps to claim his third win of the 2025 season.

  • Corey Heim dominated early, pacing 122 laps, but finished third.

  • Ben Rhodes chased Riggs late but settled for second place.

  • Chandler Smith and Jake Garcia suffered mechanical issues, finishing outside the top 30.

  • Riggs is locked into the Round of 8 heading to New Hampshire.

A Spin, a Comeback, and a Statement

Riggs’ night began with a first-lap spin that could have ended his playoff run. Instead, he relied on strategy and determination, taking the lead after a Lap 142 restart and never surrendering it. Running the final 109 green-flag laps on scuffed qualifying tires, he controlled the pace while others faltered.

“You don’t get two mulligans in the playoffs, and I got two. The first lap of the race to spin out, it’s a blow to your confidence, for sure, but I’ve got faith in this team, and I’ve got faith in everybody here …” – Layne Riggs

Riggs credited his team’s preparation and a strong package at Bristol for the win, adding that Front Row Motorsports has now won three consecutive Truck Series races at the half-mile track.

Battles Through the Field

Ben Rhodes applied pressure in the closing laps but couldn’t find a way around the No. 34 Ford. Heim, who led a race-high 122 laps and captured Stage 2, lost critical track position during the Lap 142 restart when Cole Butcher stayed out on old tires.

“It was a debatable choose on that last restart, lining up behind the truck that stayed out — I think it was the 62. He spun the tires really bad and we fell back to seventh or eighth, and it was just a super track-position-dependent race. I thought our truck was good. I think the best team won for sure. Those guys were lights out.” – Corey Heim

Playoff drivers Ty Majeski and Daniel Hemric rounded out the top five, while non-playoff contenders Tanner Gray, Connor Mosack, Andrés Pérez de Lara, Corey LaJoie, and Matt Crafton filled out the top 10. Riggs’ victory ends Heim’s bid to match Greg Biffle’s single-season record of nine wins.

Playoff Picture Shifts

Riggs’ victory guarantees a spot in the Round of 8, easing pressure for next weekend’s elimination race at New Hampshire. Majeski and Hemric strengthened their points positions with top-five finishes, but others faced setbacks. Chandler Smith, who won at Bristol in the spring, suffered a power steering issue on Lap 32 and finished 30th, 14 laps down, dropping to 10th in the standings and 24 points below the cutline. Pole winner Jake Garcia experienced a power failure after leading the opening stage and ended the night 33rd, 14 points beneath the cutline.

Other playoff drivers encountered mixed fortunes. Kaden Honeycutt finished 12th, Rajah Caruth 15th, Tyler Ankrum 20th, and Grant Enfinger 21st. Each will enter New Hampshire needing strong results to advance. The race at the one-mile oval will decide which eight drivers remain in the hunt for the championship.
